So sad to see so many get on the "Emo's the answer, what was the question" bandwagon without a moment's thought to room treatment, speaker placement or sonic objectives............

Hi Bill. It sounds like you're unhappy with your current setup. Those Gemini speakers really need to breathe with some adequate Emo power. I think an upgrade to an XPR-2 would turn your frown upside down. Throw in a CMX-2 and you're golden!

I would trash his setup and start over.(esp the tuner, speaker and sub) The equipment is very dated. Many improvements have been made in electronics. To trash a brand is sad. Enough said.

'Nuff said.

How do you know those "poor souls " don't have a engineered designed sound treated room? Why do you feel sorry for them? Maybe they enjoy trying different things instead of taking everyone's word for it? After all that's why almost all companies offer a 30 day in home trial
Just curious.

So sad to see so many get on the "Emo's the answer, what was the question" bandwagon without a moment's thought to room treatment, speaker placement or sonic objectives............ It's only an "Emo's the answer" bandwagon here because this is an Emotiva forum. Even so, many are quick to respond with whatever brand they are enthused with, without regard to non-equipment factors that influence sound. In a recent thread in which the guy had a room with hardwood floors and was asking how he should upgrade, I said first thing is to do some room treatments to overcome the effect of the room before spending money on more expensive equipment. But instead, pretty much all the responses were about people rattling off their favorite equipment - and not necessarily Emo. The thing is, there's nothing really exciting about buying room treatments, plus it involves work to get them set up correctly. But the adrenaline surges when buying new equipment. And really, isn't this hobby more about buying new gear than how anything sounds? I would say so.

I agree that speaker placement and some well thought out room treatments go a long way. I may have jumped to conclusions

Oh, no, I live in sonic nirvana with my 140wpc KT-120 monoblocks!! 140 WATTS !!!!!! How do you live with yourself, Bill that's just crazy that you think that's adequate power, I think you must be removed from the lounge all together, I mean really do your cones even move with such eenie weenie teenie bits of current, XPR-1's minimum is recommended muhahahahahahaha, kidding aside power is nice but room treatments and speakers are far higher up the chain on improving the SQ of one's system Chad

I agree that there are some on the band wagon that suggest an Emotiva branded piece of equipment regardless if they have even heard it themselves or not. I think it is obvious to anyone that frequents this forum that most of us are fans of this equipment, and this brand. I don't weigh in to say this amp is better than that amp and all that unless I have heard them myself. Secondly, if you go to other forums you see as much Emotiva bashing as you see Emotiva love. Comes with the territory. I frequent the Klipsch forum and see all of the Klipsch worshippers. Isn't that to be expected in a dedicated brand forum?
I would never try to steer someone away from another brand unless I have had bad personal experiences. So far since getting into Emotiva my bad experiences are minimal and the only real concerns I have had centered around the older Sherbourn branded pieces. There are a million reasons to buy or not to buy any piece of equipment from any manufacturer. Pros and Cons are everywhere. I would think when people are putting their money up to buy equipment, room treatments or whatever they read up a little before delving in simply because someone else told them to...

I thought the exact same thing today browsing through the newest threads.
On another note Bill you should seriously consider upgrading to a bi-amp setup with 4 XPR-1s. I mean your setup is an underpowered joke!

Ok so let's see your perfect REW graph
Also your list of atmos as somthing to improve your ReW is a poor statement
