Ever wonder how people just read but fail to comprehend their reading. Blows my mind. And just what exactly do you mean by that?

Touche'. Hey Rickie. Some just follow the words but not the meaning.

'Voice dubbed in' , world's smartest porcupine or extraterrestrial ? My wife and I can hear words AND phases.
Other videos exist on YT where the animal is making similar noises.

Allot less talk and more action from me. 7 cassette decks in a month serviced and enjoyed. Kept 6, gave one to a friend who appreciates the 80s vibe. Exercising like it is life. Well it is really. Amping up my quality of work as a result of the delicacy tape machines demand. I am not a tech. Just an enthusiast who is sick and tired of waiting. Now I am doing! I am done talking the talk. It is time to walk the walk. Anyone on the fence is welcome to join me. It is a heck of a fun ride.
The Technics in progress. Well evidently the forum folks here are not walking on Attachments. Sorry.

The Technics RS-M270X is done! Transport completely gone through. Cold solder joints addressed. damaged Noise Reduction switch fixed. It is doing very well. dbx Noise Reduction is working excellently. Only the JVC TD-V621 left. Waiting for belts.

I Like Analog better than Digital, or I like digital better than Analog. Truth is, I do both. Why be limited?

News flash! This Just In! loudwire.com/cassette-sales-up-material-shortage-production-delays/Cassette sales are up. Not just a little. Futurists eat my tape leader. And Keith? Chillax before you even start about the vast majority. This isn't about the mp3 earbud only folks no! It is about allot of folks going another way. Digital is NOT the only way to your place of special in music. I build a strong case for both music methods and never shun one over the other. All of it keeps audio and music turning, or running bit by bit. What great times we have. Anyone telling you the art of listening is dead, is dead wrong. What do you care how someone else is listening. Shut up put in your play list and get lost! Lost in your music that is and let it be! We all are winners.

Belts finally arriving from Tau Ceti, or so it seems. Are installed! 15 minutes of my time and the JVC TD-V621 is right again. I will tweak speed control at some point. But my last deck is done!

He goes for vinyl first when one of his performers releases new music. He even has cassette tapes and a Pioneer dual deck player.

Yes, according to one source, a stunning 118,000 cassettes were sold last year....
(And, yes, I had a portable cassette player for years, and then an Advent Cassette Deck..... if anyone here is old enough to remember those.)

Actually... I had the 201.... with the single meter, and the Wollensack transport, with the massively powerful motor, and the non-locking fast wind lever....
I bought one very soon after they came out... and used it quite a lot for several years. (With either TDK-SA tape or the Advent branded Chromium Dioxide tape.)
Then I moved up to a Teac A2300SD - which was a 7" open reel recorder... and one of the few reel-to-reel home units to include Dolby noise reduction. That worked really well... but I didn't have a lot of occasion to make tapes.
I have to say, though, that, nostalgia aside, digital recording is a lot more consistent, and consistently delivers better sound quality... I don't do much recording nowadays... but I'll take 24/96 WAV on a pocket-sized digital recorder any day of the week. (And I can edit in Audition on my computer without having to convert it.)
Here's a very cool article about it.....

Anyone watching sports tonight on Direct TV's 4K channels? The baseball game looks great, exceptional even. The football game is pretty flat looking and not nearly as sharp as the baseball game. It seems they are both FOX feeds, both on DTV, should look pretty much the same. Anyone else seeing this?

Digital is NOT better, but different. Amazing packaging efficiency and editing, oh yeah. Portable you bet. My Tascam DR-100 mk.3 is only too ready. 24/192 anybody? The limitation is the talent. Not my recorder. But, Digital amazing as it is makes the involvement in the process almost just too automatic. Part of why vinyl is so desired. Not me by the way. But it gets allot of people to the happy place. Lets not forget allot of your favorite music comes from 2 inch multi-track machines. Lest you forget, history is being written right here in Nashville. Welcome to 1979. Where the best of Digital and Analog live. Chris Mara and his wife are doing amazing things. The MCI based Mara machines are excellent. Lastly from the prosecution. The Greatful Dead, some of the most cool music was all Analog. And not all remasters are grand. Allot suck! So yeah, be kind, don't rewind, and store tails out. Thank you!

Some day in the future, you might end up with this young lady as your doctor. That's her plan. Right now, she might look like another pretty young lady, but this one at age 18 has 2 years of college level anatomy and physiology behind her, and she is working on a year of college level biology - to go along with 7 other "dual credit" and "Advanced placement" courses before she graduates high school. She's determined to make a difference in the world helping people, and I warn you - don't play soccer against her. You will end up on the ground and she likely won't get called for the penalty you think she committed. She's tough as nails and smart. Don't judge a book by its cover. And if Doctor Emma Kline is your future doctor, don't worry - you will be in good hands. Proud Dad...

Not all people are dishonest and bad. Some honestly just didn't know. I bought a tape deck from someone whose Dad had owned it, and he said he is not an expert on these things. Most young folks are not. Truth there. I sent him an image of the Capstan Drive Belt totally gone to goo land. He was very accommodating and gave me a partial refund for my trouble. So really I got this deck for a song. Maybe up to the bridge even. But pretty happy with the result over all. Waiting for 2 sets of belts and idler to come in. I undertand 2 different generations of this machine use different belts. Nice! So covering my bases. Otherwise other than a small bit of shipping damage did not affect the operation of the machine, I am pretty happy with the deal so far. Images show before and after the Goo Capstan belts are gone. Motor pulley cleaned as well.
