I purchased a pair of XPA-100’s recently during the summer sale and couldn’t be happier. They are utterly fantastic, and I have never heard better sounds from my Infinity Kappa 9’s.
I am not going to brow-beat other amplifiers or components, as so many of them are very good. I am simply going to say that for my needs, my listening tastes, the XPA-100’s offer everything I could ever ask for. Used with my Bryston 11B preamplifier the sound is detailed, dynamic, and very, very transparent. They can drive the Kappa’s to levels I would dare not listen to and offer a level of finesse and refinement that I have not experienced with other amplifiers.
This is my second foray with Emotiva amplifiers, the first being with a pair of UPA-1’s that I used for over two years. The UPA-1’s were outstanding amplifiers in their own right, but the XPA-100’s take even their virtues to a completely different level. Where the UPA-1’s shine the XPA-100’s shimmer. They seem to squeeze every nuance of music out of the Kappa’s that the UPA-1’s did not. Perhaps, the extra 50wpc over the UPA-1’s makes the difference? Or, maybe it is the slightly bigger transformer? I am certainly getting much better low level sounds with these XPA-100’s, that’s for sure.
I am not going to speculate, nor am I going to surmise. I simply use my ears, and what they are telling me is that these are the finest sounds I have ever had. Cheers!

A lot of Emotiva amplifiers are underrated, but to me the XPA-100's are the most underestimated. They offer true mono block performance at an unmatched price.
