I know this is practically unheard in this hobby but I', genuinely content with my system from an audio perspective and wouldn't change any of it. I guess I'd have to blow the load on a new display or two: a nice flat panel for everyday and a projector for some good old fashioned movie watching. Okay, that works. Can you buy your system for $10k?

Svs pb13 ultra is the best sub for 2000$?!?! While I can't say that I have heard every $2000 sub, I have heard several MORE than $2000 subs and not a single one had anything on PB-13 Ultra IMHO. Even my "lowly" SVS PB12 NSD has been a stellar performer in my system. Not only does is dig way down deep, it's always controlled and VERY musical. Yes, I'm an SVS fanboy!

Congrats with the luck of that and I too would use that to pay down mortgage or any other financial obligations first.
Maybe spend like 1k on a bonus item..

I'm quite content with my rig, but would swap a pair of Deep Sea Sound Marianas for my SVS subs to complete things.

And yes it beats a lot of 2000$+ subs But it's not even close to the best performer for 2000$. In fact there are 6 or more subs I can think of <2000$ That are better than the pb13 ultra. And a few of them are made in USA. Not in a plant in China

Its always fun to see others' preferences in these types of threads. $10k is enough for a stellar system. Replies like "pay down debt" are boring. The question is "how would you spend $10k on a stereo", not "what is the responsible thing to do with $10k?" Wharfedales are a good choice. As are Maggies and Sonus Faber.
My $10k (new retail) system would be: Selah Tempestas - 3300 W4S mamps - 2000 Dual PSA xs30se subs - 2500 XSP-1g2 - 1000 NFB 10.33 - 700
Leaves 500 for a few acoutic panels and wires.
My current system is around $6k and I dont think it is far in sound quality from the above $10k system. Sent from my SM-P600 using proboards

Their prices have risen and the bang/$ has gone way down. Sent from my SM-P600 using proboards

Mine is easy. XMC-1 and 7 Stealth 8 speakers. Zone 2 Gets Stealth 8 speakers. 2 more SVS SB-13 Subwoofers. Oppo BDP-105 and pocket the change for other fun things.

However, I replaced my 1.7s recently because I simply did not have the room for them in my rather crowded living room. The 3.6Is would require even MORE room. LOL

Sent from my SM-P600 using proboards The price increases have been minimal and they included more powerful amps and better designed drivers to boot. They STILL represent one of the best audio deals in the industry. I would certainly buy from them again. Hsu Research is another brand that offers a ton of bang for the buck, but I prefer DSP designed systems.

More expensive than psa, RA, jtrs yet perform less and made by cheap Chinese parts and labor. They are going backwards. Completely different company than 15 years ago

I would get a XMC-1. It has a great Dac included, sounds excellent in 2CH reference mode plus you can play around with Dirac room correction. Can plug a PC in and video out to a monitor for running software and selecting tracks. Most probably look at the SA-250 amplifier too. Then go audition some speakers.
