Oopsie! I had a chat with my dealer and he offered a very good deal with trade-in of my 804 D2s. Feels a bit stupid to buy speakers without listening to them before, even though he promised I can return them if I'm no happy. But I went for it, now just have to decide on white or black. So obviously prices are out, I hadn't seen them posted anywhere. Do you know what the 802 D3's list for? I just came in here to see what are the prices as well, the look is growing on me. I like the protruding drivers, I'm sure it some how helps in the sound less boxy? Djoel

Excellent. It sure looks like they made a huge leap forward with this generation. The frequency response makes the 803D3 a true full range speaker. Nice! Also maybe the color choices are different but in the U.S. It looks like it's only offered in gloss black or rosenut.

I don't know how accurate is the frequency response information on the 802D3...... And Maggies are flat? Well I guess they are technically. They are just so room dependant Maggie's are actually very flat, in physical shape that is. The sound, well that is a bit of a problem. If you spend the time and effort to toe in the maggies just right, get just the right distance from the walls, and get your seat in just the right spot you can actually hear how much you wish you have bought either a B&W or Paradigm speaker with better bass extension or a pair of full range ESLs. That affect really can be impressive.

I think this new generation looks more revolutionary vs evolutionary. Too bad the price increase reflects this. The 803 is $7k more than the last generation. $10k is expensive...&17k for me is lottery territory.

I don't know how accurate is the frequency response information on the 802D3...... I was suspicious too, playing down to 17hz +/-3db from two 8 inch drivers? In comparison the Wilson Audio Alexandria XLF plays down to 19.5hz +/-3db from one 15 inch driver, and one 13 inch driver, and the Legacy Audio Aeris plays down to 18hz +/-2db from two 12 inch woofers, and a 10 inch mid woofer.
