That's a curved panel? Tried a curved Samsung (different model) over a weekend and sent it back Monday, drove me crazy Cheers Gary No, the JS8500 series is flat. I don't care for the curved ones. Manufactures have got to get off of this curve fad! Neither my wife nor I cared for the curved screens, either. And you don't have to go 4k for a curved screen.

Count me as one of those that doesn't care for the curved screen. Hopefully when it's time for a 4K OLED, "curved" will have just been a fad.

Normally I'm an early adopter for improved technology, but I read about everything first and in the case of 4K TV the standards have been changing and are STILL not agreed upon yet. As it stands right now, the HDR format hasn't been confirmed and when it is you'll need HDMI 2.0a with 2.2 HDCD. Sets coming out now are finally 2.2 but not necessarily 2.0a and I doubt they will be firmware upgradable to whatever HDR standard is decided upon. Some TV's out now claim improved dynamic range etc. but it must be some proprietary version of the set manufacturer. Too early for me. I'm waiting for the standards dust to firmly settle. If I'd jumped in last year or even in the spring of this year, my set would be obsolete as far as the new improvements go.

Finally pulled the trigger a month ago on the Samsung JS 8500 65 inches, have the TV for 4 weeks now, so far I am happy with it except for watching tennis.. I have the Samsung video pack and the 4K video are very good, and even You tube 4K video are very good too! It is kind of remind me when we switch from DVD to blu ray. Excited to know 4K blu ray disc player is coming in a few months

It doesn't really count but I have a new 43" Sony 4K TV for use as a PC monitor. Sure I'll do experiments watching 4K content eventually (so far just one video I found on Youtube), but for now, a big beautiful monitor.
Otherwise, waiting until 2016 models come out (at least) for the TV/theater room and when both 4K native blu-ray movies and their players are available (well, probably when Oppo's comes out ;-)) Even having a player a little ahead of time I can then buy new movies at 4K and then when the 4K screen is in place I can see it in all it's glory. At least that's the plan.

Actually, Samsung just announced in Europe a 4K player to be available early next year and the firmware of their TVs will be upgradable to HDMI 2.0a from 2.0. We'll see!
