Hi folks
I'm looking to build a 2ch system and sell mt HT setup. I'm looking to see what people think of some configurations I'm thinking of.
1- keep my xpa-5 gen1 and use a splitter on the inputs to bi-amp my paradigms 2- buy 2 xpa-1l gen2 3- buy xpa-2 gen2
The CND dollar is crap I was thinking of option one I'm just not sure how the sound would be compared to the other options
Thanks

From personal experience with bi amping I think it's a no brainier. 4 channels off the XPA-5 should yeild you the best results if wired properly. option one all the way

Thanks for the info, I like the xpa-5 idea as well, what is the best way to hook this up, by using emotiva's xlr splitter? My pre amp is an audiolab mdac.

For a dedicated 2 channel setup the XPA-5 would work, but the XPA-2 is the way I would go.

For a 2 channel only :system you might try the following:
!) Boulder 3050 monoblocks weigh 450 pounds--1500 watts of Class-A power per channel $205,000 a pair 2) McIntosh C1000 Preamp--$20,000 3) Opulence Speakers $1.111,111.00
Of course this would be just a basic system. You would need sources: turntable, phono pre amp, cables, interconnects, cd/dvd to start. For 2 million I could set you up nicely with a 2 channel system

Option one with or without the bi-amp. I did this before and found a jumper that i put at the amp end. It was a female rca to (2) male rca. I felt that this was cleaner than splitting at the pre-amp end and running (2) RCA cables to the amp.
Honestly i woukd probably give it a go normal with just (2) channels to start.

I only have room for one system in my house. Somebody on here should jump on such a smashing deal! Talk about cutting out the middleman. ROFL!!!

Option #1 preserves an option you didn't even mention, and I LIKE it. Later, you can get EXTERNAL crossovers between the preamp and the amp. Wire the speakers directly TO the amp. If 3-way speakers, keep the internal mid/high crossover and use an external crossover for bass to mid/high. Some research on crossover points would help you think about this option X.
