A close friend of mine has a pair Alta Audio Statement Towers on loan from the manufacturer. They're $200K for the pair including all associated electronics. The manufacturer is leaving the speakers for a few months "so you and the guys can listen to them". Nice. I'll post pictures next weekend. Statement TowersRuss

Well I have heard several of Carl Marchisotto's speakers and they've all sounded excellent - he first popped onto my radar as the designer of the Dahlquist sub and electronic crossover in the '70s. I owned a pair of his Thunderbolt III subwoofers for several years, they were also very good; while not cheap they were in the same price range as many other subs, were well built and looked great (I've even gotten Carl on the phone when I had a question). That said, this qualifies to me as 'over the top', though if someone has the money and wants to spend it on these why not?

$197,000.oo AND they charge you $1250.00 for freight? They should personally deliver them on a chariot made of gold.. 200k and no grills?

I bet you that most people with these kind of systems don't even listen to them more than once a month.

I don't know about "most people" but one friend I do know who has a half-million-dollar system in a purpose-built listening room he had added onto his $10M plus home in Belvedere, CA says he listens to it every day. Unless he's not there, of course.

Did I mention I got the Nolas for my 7.1 system? Thinking of adding them for Atmos.
Seriously...NOT!
