Hello,
I’m new to the Emotiva community. I recently purchased a XMC-1, XPA-2 to power my B&W CM10s, and XPA-3 to power my B&W CM Centre 2 S2 and B&W DS3B rears. (I also have a Rythmik Audio F15HP-SE sub.)
As was exhaustively detailed at emotivalounge.proboards.com/thread/41938/mac-dirac-full-connect-xmc, I, too, was unable to get the XMC-1 to be recognized by Dirac Live LE for Emotiva (from here on out “Dirac”) on my 2013 Mac Pro (running OS X 10.11.2). I tried everything suggested in the thread as well as what Emotiva support suggested. None of it worked for me.
I finally figured out what was going on. For me it was two things. First, I was using a TP-Link TLSG1008D switch. Something about how this handled DHCP and IP (et al) assignments simply doesn’t work (or, at least, I wasn’t able to get it to work) with Dirac. I ended up moving over to a Netgear N300 router. All the sudden the DHCP assignments looked normal (IPs like 192.168.1.2 and Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0), as starkly contrasted to what I was seeing before.
And second, after switching to the Netgear router, Dirac still readily recognized the mic (which it did before), but didn’t recognize the XMC-1. I turned the OS X built-in firewall off, and launched Dirac - lo and behold, I got a prompt I’d never seen before: “MainWindow Do you want to use this server? XMC-1 192.168.1.3”. I about cried. (You guys have no idea how frustrating this all has been for me!) When I turned the firewall back on, I got the “Do you want the application “Dirac LE for Emotiva.app" to accept incoming connections?” prompt, which I’ve answered over and over again (and was marked as “Allow incoming connections” in Security & Privacy). I had a similar issue with another program I use, so I force signed it in Terminal with the command “sudo codesign --force --deep --sign - /Applications/Emotiva/*”. Next time I launched Dirac, I was given the same “Do you want the application “Dirac LE for Emotiva.app" to accept incoming connections?” prompt, but this time it remembered my answer and it immediately recognized the XMC-1.
So, distilled, my lesson was this:
1. I had to use a network router (not a switch).
2. I had to force sign Dirac using the command sudo codesign --force --deep --sign - /Applications/Emotiva/*
Now, the issue that’s still outstanding for me every time I launch Dirac is it prompts me for my Username/Password. Even though I put it in, click “Validate”, and it accepts it, I’m prompted every time. Anyone know how to fix this?
Hope this helps!
