... 5 In 1 Out HDMI 2.0 with no HDCP 2.2 is fine with me. Never heard of the Dac chip but looks very good from what I see on there site. More research. I love research. Display looks cool to me ! Hmm... For what's coming down everywhere else, it's gotta do HDR and HDCP 2.2 otherwise you are slamming the door on what's about to happen. Samsung UHD player starts next month (can pre-order for $400), more UHD BD titles are being announced (Life of Pi, e.g.). I think HDR is the lynch-pin, that's what's really going to distinguish quality of video on top of 4K. Still waiting and hoping, but looking like I may not jump until 2017. I think the real kick-off will be when Oppo releases their UHD player (late this year or early next year). Could probably be used as a more basic pre-pro, like the current models, until just the right other box comes along. I think everyone that wants all that is an Idiot ! They are Stupid ! They should be shot ! They are Numbskulls ! Or I could be wrong !

The new XPA amps don't appear to have a toroidal power converter anymore. That looks like an EI converter up front. Personally, I'm fine with that.

Agree ; lets hope its like the hdmi chipset in the top of the line denons/marantz's and can get an upgrade to 2.0a and hdcp2.2 for HDR On the blue oled and leds ; maybe white switching for standby [dirac logo] or a momentary mode - would explain the white volume bar graph . I can see different options to suit all tastes being a 'lifestyle' piece

Hey, there is just no Information regarding HDCP 2.2 and HDR. This doesn´t mean it won´t be there from the start. I guess we just have to wait a Little bit more and find out...

Thanks Bolle, my remarks were not meant to say that the Emersa EMP-1 does not have HDCP 2.2 and HDR. It appears to me that being HDMI 2.0 would lend to there being HDCP 2.2 and HDR to go along with it. We will soon know.

I remember the last time this came up with the xmc1's hdmi1.4b chipset and Dan soon found out from Momentum data the exact details to clear the speculation . Thankfully the new sammy ubd 8500 has a 2nd hdmi audio out I think the time line for the development of the xmc1 hdmi board is a good indicator as to its HDR passthrough fingers xed

Since Emotiva just debuted the Emersa line along with the Airmotiv speaker line at CES 2016 I'd guess it's pretty close to being available, but no they've not set a date that I'm aware of. As for supported formats, as you say, it's a 7.1 processor so the typical Dolby and DTS surround formats would be my guess as Atmos and DTS:X go beyond 7.1. DIRAC Live is listed on their website to be the room correction. emotiva.com/whats-new/audio-gets-immersive-emotiva-re-thinks-contemporary-high-end-market-ces-2016-introduction

What I find most interesting is the switch from talking about upcoming projects during their engineering phases with their customer base (that's us) to now doing press releases to the industry when the product is available (i.e.; in production). I don't believe that's an accident or due to a lack of time, it's a change in focus. Which is arguably more in line with a "retail" selling model compared to a "direct" selling model. Plus of course we are partly to blame for the change due to incessant whining and bitching about when something is available, promised, forecast, down to demanding it's minutest spec details etc. Writing a press release and taking a few pictures and then sending out to the retailers (they make money from selling it) and the reviewers (they make money from writing about it), as a result both of whom are going to be more receptive and less demanding than a bunch of keyboard whingers.
Cheers Gary

Ohhhhh....I hope that I can hold out until the EMP-1 is released. I have been successfully managing my XPA-5 Gen 1 with an old Onkyo TX-SR705, but have been wanting a proper pre/pro. The XMC-1 is sadly out of my budget.
When I heard about the Emersa last month, I knew that was my solution. Unfortunately...just within the past few days...I am getting random "sonar pings" out of the tweeters in my LSi speakers. Not severe yet, and powering down the receiver corrects the problem for hours or days, but I know it is just a matter of time.
Patience has been replaced with anxiety...
Cheers, Michael

thats a nice shot of the emp1's back panel jmilton ; going by the hdmi in shading being different makes 2 hdmi outs more likely than just the one [ if it wasnt a pre production model.? . Maybe the french site was reading a brochure

Yes, 2 HDMI outs/4 HDMI ins. Carlo also posted the innards of the new switching amps, which I thought were interesting. Boy are they small! compact!

According to Emotiva on their Facebook Page the Emersa line is 3-4 months away, they replied to a comment under one of the instagram pictures, (maybe it was 4-5 months, I saw it last night and forget)
