Was there anything about an integrated amp with digital inputs in the Emersa line up ? I thought there was a previous announcement at CES .

6 months to go for Emersa still? Ok... So Overall 1 year of delay compared with the initial communicated plan. Well, somehow one gets used to this. I hope at least the EMP-1 will then have HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2 built in from the start. They are great folks....talked to Bill today and Victoria is very cool as well...

Both damon and dan spoke of taking the emersa preamp which has digital inputs plus bluetooth and adding 2 digital amp modules making it a stereo integrated amp. Tomorrow i will get some backside pictures and clarification.

Elac was pretty impressive as well The Elacs were shockingly good. Favorite/best sound may have been the d'agostino room, playing a nat King Cole LP!

Dan's equipment is remarkable but the sound didn't do it for me. In fact most of the extremely high dollar systems fell short for me. It seems the sharper the sound the less musical they are, or their bass is all bloated. Bass bloat most likely has to do with those rooms though.

The very high end stuff was "less musical". Must be my age showing, but I enjoyed the 'old timers' like van Alstien (sp) and Janszen, too.

No they were using towers and 4 large bookshelf surrounds. It's just a bit annoying as a big Emotiva fan that they short change themselves because they say many of their buyers are target Polk Audio buyers. Second year I said it...when you just come out of the Legacy room next door - that you need to pass to get to Emotiva and listen to the Polks...you can have all top end Mcintosh electronics, it's still not going to compare. Just so it's clear, it didn't sound terrible. It sounded quite nice - just not the high end sound you want to represent your amps and XMC-1. Lsims?? Not sounding great? Polk audios top of the line? I have a set for 7.1.2 and love them. Have for the past 4 years. Great speakers! Never heard anyone talk negatively about them. Lsim705s mains Lsim706 center Lsim703s wides Lsim702 surrounds 900-ls ceiling speakers for atmos Even the wife that's not into audio thinks they sound amazing recently when I installed a pair of xpa-1L mono blocks. Agreed. XPR 2 driving my RTi A9s and they sound very good. Coincidentally, I too must pass by my Legacy's to get to my Polks in the downstairs theater. *sarcastic grin* Scott

I also match a lot of Emo gear and Polk gear (mostly, the LSIMs, as you can see in my sig), and in my homes, my systems sound the best they have ever sounded ever since I got into this hobby, so I only react with amusement when I hear some people on this lounge going out of their way to diss such nice polk speakers as the LSIMs (which they most likely haven't even heard in their own homes or systems), as if the mere mention or appearance of polk speakers automatically generates some irritation, allergies, or itches that they must scratch on the spot... To be fair, one often encounters a reverse pattern on certain polk forums too : there are guys there who treat the bashing of Emotiva amps as if it is a sort of religious ritual they must periodically observe, and I often wonder how many of those folks have actually ever auditioned those amps they are often bashing... I typically do not get myself involved in such debates... I know how the Emo amps matched with the Polk LSIMs sound in my own systems, and wouldn't want it any other way. In this particular case, though, I thought I should make an exception, and chime in with my own input, especially, since you have already set the ball rolling in refuting the unwarranted dissing and criticisms. Hopefully, our efforts will help prevent the misdirection or the discouragement of at least one prospective enthusiast who might be thinking matching Emo amps and components with Polk speakers..Or maybe not, but it would still be worth the effort, nonetheless... The LSIMs speaker sets are great works of craftsmanship, even if they're not priced in the 5-figure ranges like some other expensive speakers one encounters at such shows... It does not surprise me that Emo sometimes uses those same speakers for the demos at certain shows, since it seems to me that they are targeting they same budget minded audiophiles...

Well, I think the big Polk's are very nice speakers. They are also very well made. And reasonably priced.
I thought the boys had the treble set a little hot in the theater, but that can easily be corrected by adjusting the Dirac target curve. Maybe I'll trim it a bit this morning...
The reason we like to demo the Polks is because many people own them and they are popular with a lot of Emotiva customers.
When our big speakers come to market, we'll retire the Polk's. But all in all they do a solid job.
Try to enjoy; it's a hobby!!!

Oh my, I just got great news! My kids are going to a Greek parade as of this morning so I get to spend a whole 5 or so hours jamming on my new setup on a perfect weather afternoon! The whole neighborhood gets to hear the Polks and emotiva as well as I'll have the windows open! Crank'em like I stole it! P.S. Love my new xpa-1L mono blocks and XSP-1 combo!

Emotiva amps have good power at 4 ohms they should demo them with Magnepan speakers.

Sounds like a great thing to wear! Its like being a human piñata. I've proposed making less popular products that people don't want to buy - but for some reason it's not a practical idea. /Here's to more cool products coming in the future.

Not that it matters now...it appears you don't even have to make a committment any more for people to accuse you of failing to meet it. Lucky you! Mark I actually feel bad now about opening that delay can, because, as I already said, I didn´t mean it as negative as you all Interpret it here. I dug for 15 minutes but couldn´t find the post I remember. Actually it wasn´t the Emersa being anounced for late 2015 but the UMC-200 replacement / new Baby 7.1 processor / ... - which could mean Emersa, BaseX, whatever - and it was also not an official announcement. As I said before - doesn´t matter. I am just mentioning it, because I am sure I read something like that - I didn´t make such a rumor up myself, as some here are suggesting it seems to me. My UMC-200 still runs great and sounds good, it is more of an upgrade itch Thing. So I am now eying Christmas 2016 for me and the Emersa - hope this works out. From the Pictures, Big Dan should also make a nice Santa I guess. Best regards Fabian
