I'm pondering on getting an new L-C-R setup of Tekton Designs Enzo or GoldenEar Triton 2's (original model) with the SuperCenter XL.
Thoughts? Does anyone have either setup?

My friend is about to get the Tekton Pendragons! On vehicle out for delivery. I will hear it by Sunday and let you know my impressions. I haven't heard any golden ear but I have heard Polk bookshelf speakers under a $1000 so not really the same comparison.

Go to Tekton's website and click on testimonials. It is actually a comparison between the Enzo XLs and the Golder Ears but worth reading.

Tekton Enzo XL with Pendragon center here, absolutely love it! Never heard Triton 2s, sorry no comparison available. If you have the room go for it.

Golden Ear! Sandy Gross is a Genius! (Never a bad review only praise for his designs) I have His original Definitive Technology BP2000's from 1995 I use them as my rear channels and never had an issue with amps or crossovers...I now have his swansong with Def-Tech BP7000SC for my mains. He left Def-Tech then Def-Tech turned into a Best buy Baby! Well he is now at Golden ear creating the same sonic, relatively, budget friendly gems IMO available...I listened to the Triton Ones and they are wonderful and very characteristic of the 7000SC's that I currently have...I have no need for speakers at this time but if I did with a 5k budget there is no doubt it would be Golden Ear for me but get them before he leaves Golden Ear and starts again!

Mr. Sandy Gross of Golden Ear may well be a genius. His designs have won accolades from every review I've ever read of them. That said, I've never heard any Golden Ear speakers. But from what I've read, Golden-Ear is "the Emotiva of loudspeakers." The feature that I think impressive about the Golden Ear brand is their built-in powered subwoofers. I've owned a DefTech BP speaker designed by Mr. Gross, that also had the powered sub onboard, and it was an AWESOME sounding speaker! Based on that, I'd expect nothing but excellence from the (similarly-configured) Golden Ear line.
Mr. Eric Alexander, the Tekton owner & designer, also has a reputation for great-sounding speakers. I should be receiving my Pendragons today, and am eager to hear them. Will the Pendragons compete with my existing Axiom M100s (which cost 50% more than the Pendragons)? Stay tuned...

To say I adore my Tekton Lore Impulse's would be a profound understatement. My absolute favorite speakers I've ever owned.
Given what I've read about Golden Ear - I seriously don't think you can go wrong with either.

Love Tetkton design Lore's, powered by a pair XPA-100 Gen-2.

Tekton. Can't beat that dynamic range of great efficient speaker. I have 5 Pendragon surround monitors as my 5 channels and they are the bomb.

The GoldenEars aren't very linear at higher volumes. Probably not the best fit for home theater [or for anyone that likes to turn up their music].

I just look at the Golden Ear website. Not sure which line you were looking at but the Triton series is based on the Acoustic Research AR9 design which is still considered one of the best speakers ever produced. The Tritons have woofers in an isobaric configuration, 2 mid woofers and an HVFR tweeter. The Triton has a Linkwitz/Riley crossover and a D’Appolito 6" long-throw midrange/bass drivers. This would allow for a much smoother hand-off up and down the driver chain. They also resemble Legacy speakers except for the isobaric configured woofers.

Just curious why you are limiting your speaker search to only 2 brands? Have you demoed either the Enzo's or Triton 2's where you'll actually have the speakers setup? From your screen name it appears you live in Southern California, where I'd bet you have access to many different speaker brands with models in your price range. Remember speakers will define what your setup will sound like, so if possible try and demo as many as possible. As for other Tekton and GoldenEar owners, I'm sure they're pleased with the sound from their speakers, but remember their thoughts are completely subjective and only apply to their ears in their environment.

I have 3 Triton 2s behind an AT screen and could not be happier. They are dynamic with great clarity.....dialog is outstanding. I've thought about selling my PSA XS30s that are back there too as they are really overkill with the 3 built in subs in the Tritons. I think so much of these speakers that I bought the Triton Ones for the 2 channel system.

My wife and I had the pleasure of listening to the Pendragons at Andrew Robinson's house when he was still in CA. I was blown away the dynamic immediacy of the sound. At the time, he didn't have the center yet so we watched some movie scenes with a phantom center. Again, we were pleasantly surprised. The reason my wife joined was to see the sheer size of the Pendragons; she's only 5'1". She's really easy-going and would have acquiesced on the purchase, but I could tell she preferred not to have 54" high black rectangles in our main room.
The Triton 2's have the allure of built-in subs; they would allow me to take one of my current subs out of the equation. I have an opportunity to pick up a demo pair at a great price.
That said, I think the Enzo's may be a great compromise; dynamic and a full range that can go low leaving my HSU to deal with the really low Hz's. Plus I can get them in white w/ grills which helps with the WAF.
