For anyone that has the 1x1 HDMI 2.0 upgrade board, I presume it is on Input #1 and Output #1? There was no documentation with my unit when I got it back from the factory.

Thanks bolle. Emotiva technical support also told me they would email a .pdf with this information to those with older machines that upgraded.

No problem. I bought a XMC-1 with the upgrade included and there was an A4 leaflet with this information in the package.

Emotiva's tech enhancement #2 states that the upgrade will support up to 7.2.4. Is it known if the 4 additional outputs will be both RCA and balanced? I just don't see where the 4 new outputs can possibly be fit.
Very excited to upgrade my 5.1 system to a 5.1.4 system.
And, very happy that my XPA-3 Gen3 can be modified at the same time to an XPA-7 Gen3.
I'll be listening to audio via my TV for about 3 weeks, but that's just A-OK with me...

But even the RCA took some creative engineering on their part.

I have installed the board and it is all working except for the HDCP2.0 on my Panasonic DMP-UB900 which defaults to 1080p on a UHD disk. Fist off, am I using the correct ins and outs. I have assumed input HDMI1 and output HDMI1 have been upgraded, but looking at the card again, I can see that new chips are at the ends so maybe its input HDMI8 and output HDMI2.
Anyone got this working yet?. The folks from Emotiva are at CES so I cannot get a reply at the moment.

It is HDMI INPUT #8 and HDMI OUTPUT #2 that support HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2 on the XMC-1 4k video card. (Those are the input and output closest to each end.) Thanks! All working now - strange that it's not mentioned in upgrade guide or the latest manual

Is the board you're talking about the same as the HDMI 2.0 Board that Emotiva sells for 349 for older XCM-1's? Or is that a different one that's also needed?
Thx

I too would like to know if anyone has heard anything about the board upgrade dates of release. Getting antsy here, wanting to upgrade to the XMC-1 from the UMC-1. The UMC-1 has served me well over the past 5 years, but I recently upgraded my video system, and now I've had to step down to SPDIF audio-out from my two most used sources. So the HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2 are very important factors for me. I can make the current HDMI board work, since it supports ARC, but I think it's best I just wait until the new HDMI board is released so I can run hdmi through the XMC-1. Might even wait until the Atmos board is released as well, and go all out.
Speculations anybody?

I wouldn't settle. Find a deal on something out there that meets your needs and then when the Emo is out, decide then whether you want to keep what you got or switch to the Emo. If you score a good enough deal you should be able to offload it for minimum $$ loss - think of it as a rental price. And who knows, you may not want to switch it out.
Life's too short to hold off audio enjoyment... and waaaaaayyyy too short to settle for SPDIF..

reminds of the days when building own computers and the market milked the living sh** out of every processor and every vid card and all the mmemory upgrades all the while they are making like 300% profit off every little thing. makes it herd to be a dedicated customer knowing greed is motivating alot of this. it looks like a 10 min upgrade with that card.

Correct me if I'm mistaken, but if I upgrade to the XMC-1 with the single HDCP2.2 port, I can feed all HDMI 2.0 sources to the TV, then use the TV's HDMI ARC to feed the XMC-1 audio using the single HDCP2.2 compliant port. Right? That is, if I can get the ARC to work properly. Based on what I've read, it can be kinda finicky. Then when the new upgrade card comes out I can route all HDMI thru the XMC-1.
