It's kinda funny....ever since this processor hit the site, I have not noticed any audio dropouts with my UMC-200. I may hold off on the processor upgrade and spend my money on one of the new Airmotiv subs. Hmmmm.....decisions.....decisions. I think the 12 or 15 inch Airmotiv sub would blow away my 200watt Paradigm PS1000

I still would like to get my main question answered. If I order the MC-700 for shipment at end of Dec., do I have a 30 day window in which to evaluate it and return it if it exhibits problems? As far as I know, all new Emotiva products come with the 30 trial period, for verification maybe Dan/Lonnie/Keith/Nick will chime in here and give you the definitive answer you are looking for, if not a quick phone call to customer service will get you a quick answer.

In all honesty be prepared to not send them back. You will have to pry my Emotiva equipment from my cold dead hands. I moved up from a HTIB to a sony receiver, to a Denon 3311 then bought a Yamaha Aventage. None of them was close to how the XMC 1 sounds with an XPA 5 & 3. If you can afford it then do it.

Sorry for cross posting - maybe this thread is read by Emotiva? Have the UMC-200 bugs been resolved? Please see this thread. Does the MC-700 support Dolby Digital Plus? Is equalization available for the back surrounds or just for LCR, sub and side surrounds? Thank you.

It is getting a little annoying... I am sure your post has been read. Do you think, you have any right to DEMAND an answer?
About half of the "bugs" linked by you aren´t really bugs, might be design decisions, might also be behave differently than expected by some but no real bugs if you strictly look at the definition of "bug".
Btw. your last question already has been answered by Dan himself in the MC-700 thread...

Based on my experience (and several others I have helped) it's far more likely to be the satellite box than the UMC-200. As a result I suspect that changing to the MC-700 won't help you. Cheers Gary
Actually, I don't think it's the Dish receiver. Example: I press some button that interrupts the audio like Skip 30 Sec. When audio resumes the sound is very occasionally muffled because the audio processor has gone into stereo mode and all I'm getting are the two front side channels. Sometimes (not often) I get a behavior that some people might call motorboating - I loud and very irritating distortion that sounds a bit like an outboard small boat motor reving up. In all cases, pausing the receiver momentarily and restarting clears up the problem. There's an issue with the handshake protocol, I'm guessing. Also, I never had these problems with the Integra processor that the UMC replaced. Same Dish receiver, however. So, I'm pretty sure the receiver is not the culprit.

For digital HDTV cable reception I am using an old DVB-C set top box (HD Digibox DB-AD210) and that doesn't have any dropouts with my UMC-200 via HDMI. My primary video source component is an Asus R510L laptop with an Intel Core i7-4510U, Intel HD4400 integrated Graphics, and Nvidia GeForce 820M, on which I play full Blu-ray copies (REMUX .mkv files that are stored on external USB 3.0 harddrives) by using MPC-HC with madVR and that also doesn't have any dropouts with my UMC-200 via audio bitstreaming over HDMI, as well as via MPC-HC's built-in LAV Audio decoder's native support for DTS-HD MA to PCM decoding with WASAPI Exclusive Mode on the Intel HDMI Audio output. It also correctly plays multichannel Hi Res FLAC files and .mkv video files that have multichannel Hi Res FLAC audio streams in them. Using standard 1.8 meter gold plated HDMI 1.3 compatible cables. Whatever I throw at it, the UMC-200 in my setup dances through it. Can't speak for others. Will certainly buy again, and NOT because I qualify for the Upgrade For Life 25% off the normal listed price (I do), but because personal experience with Emotiva products.

It is getting a little annoying... I am sure your post has been read. Do you think, you have any right to DEMAND an answer? Why are you so defensive? I don't demand anything. Just asking questions about the MC-700 before pulling the trigger. I could get an AVR with Atmos/DTS:X amps INCLUDED for less money than the MC-700. Don't feel asking these questions is inappropriate given Emotiva's track record. About half of the "bugs" linked by you aren´t really bugs, might be design decisions, might also be behave differently than expected by some but no real bugs if you strictly look at the definition of "bug". You can call it whatever you want, if the headphone signal carries the equalized signal from the speaker channels the device doesn't work as it should. The same is true for "Direct" in the UMC-200. Then there's a polarity reversal when using 12dB filters which creates a big notch right at the crossover frequency to the subs. Test signals are post EQ which can prohibit proper level calibration. Not exactly what I would call "design decisions". Btw. your last question already has been answered by Dan himself in the MC-700 thread... Just went back to re-read the thread. Indeed he said "There are 11 bands of PEQ on all channels". That's also what the UMC-200 product page said but in the end the back surrounds didn't get any PEQ. I just would like to have confirmation from Emotiva that the back surrounds have their own PEQs this time. Recently they said the unit wouldn't have HDMI 2.0a although it does. Just want to double check. Better be safe than sorry.

With all due respect, you ask for confirmation from Emotiva, if you don't want to take Dan's word for it about the back surrounds having manual P-EQ, whose word are you going to take? My advise would be to call Emotiva and talk with them in person, otherwise you'll need to wait until the first MC-700's are out in the wild for verification. While you won't get the $499 deal if you wait, hopefully the wait for you will be worth the verification of the answers to your very relevant questions.

11 bands of PEQ on ALL channels. Just like your favorite, the Outlaw 975... oh, wait... it doesn't have ANY PEQ's, sorry. But it does have HDMI 1.3 and composite video!! Sorry, I couldn't resist.. The HDR issue was my fault. I ran a test and it looked like the HDR wasn't enabled and I freaked out because I didn't want to have incorrect info. on the site. I then called someone at SI and he gave me wrong advice, just to add to my freaking out. So, I made Nick change the site immediately... then of course, our regular SI expert got back from vacation and told me I was stupid and that it did work. And then went out and got a new display that was actually HDR compliant and verified what we thought all along and then I had to eat crow on the forum... sorry. Also Lonnie came back from his vacation and told me I was stupid too. So, now you know. Happy?

In the thread I asked the exact same question you asked here and Dan´s post was an answer to that. Sometimes it helps to read... Regarding HDMI 2.0a and unsureness it also helps to read posts in the right order regarding their creation date. This was already rectified several times here in the boards, even in the same thread the confusion occured. Regarding the way I answer in this context I just don´t like people asking the same things over and over again and in different thread if they don´t get an answer as fast as they want in the way that they want / demand... These are bad manners in my opinion, but that´s just me. It would be smarter to take the time and think WHY they didn´t get an answer...

"Go get a HDR display - stat!" Perhaps it could have the cadence of the movie "Crank!" It would have been fun to be a fly on the wall during some of those moments.

Thanks for confirmation, Dan. Much appreciated. Any additional information regarding my other questions about signal flow and DD+? Thank you. 11 bands of PEQ on ALL channels.
