Does anyone have any information on what is happening with the stealth powered monitor line? There used to be stealth 6, and there was talk about a bigger stealth with 2 woofers or something like that, but right now only stealth 8's are available (but even the 8's aren't available in canada apparently).
Just wondering. I'm interested in trying a pair, but don't want to be left hanging with just a pair of 8's and then have the line dropped. Would love some reassurances that I would be able to continue purchasing similar models in the future...!

The Stealth 88'a (the double 8" woofer) was never anything more than a concept piece. I do not believe it was ever in (serious) contention for production. As for the Stealth 6, I cannot really say. If I had to guess I'd say there was too much overlap between it and the Airmotiv 6s speakera. I could be entirely wrong about that, of course.

On the overlap b/n stealth 6 and airmotiv 6, I kind of agree. When you have product lines that are differentiated on features, it's easy to see: "if I want feature X, then I need to buy model Y", but when you have speakers that are the same size and look very similar it gets harder to tell. I just knew the stealth 6 had more power/watts, and was supposed to sound better, but I never knew in what way the stealth sounded better. More bass? More articulation? Better off axis response? etc.
I know the stealths were marketed as studio monitors, but since some were using them in their home theatre as well, it would have been nice to have a "stealth 7c" or whatever, something that had tweeter in the middle flanked by two woofers which could then be used as a center.

Also, the Airmotiv speakers came to resemble the Stealth speakers in their second iteration.

My guess is the Stealth88 might have been too big and impractical for studio applications.
I still stand by the stealth speaker being one of the best I've heard, and the price is just delightful

That's why I posted the question

You could always buy three Stealth 8 speakers. If I'm not mistaken, Andrew Robinson used a trio of Stealth 8 monitors across the front of his home theater set up with great success.

The Stealth 8's are really really good (they're what I have in my living room). At the moment we aren't planning to discontinue them, and there will probably eventually be some new Stealth models, but nothing in the immediate future. Also, since the Stealth 8's were designed to sound neutral, and we really like the way the Airmotiv tweeters sound, you can bet that any new models will work just fine with them. (of course, you could just buy a full set now... ) I promise that, if you buy a pair, you WILL be impressed. While our Airmotiv S line of powered monitors are quite good..... the Stealth 8's really are a step above.... I've never known Keith to exagerrate. If anything he is more guilty of downplaying. So if he says the thing sounds really good, i absolutely believe him.

Since the new Airmotiv Subwoofer uses allot of the Stealth and Airmotiv speaker technology, and more. They will play to impress as well. That is just how Stealth and Airmotiv play in the studio, music, and theater environments.

Seems like Keith may have answered your question.
