It must be nice to belittle anything out of your ordinary world of conceptions.

Usually having a coffee table in front of your listening seat is a bad idea, but the Nautilus might make a good diffusor.

Looks more like a showroom rather than an actual working theater.

that is a prime example of spend money just to spend money...while im sure it performs great....i wouldn't touch it even if i had all the money in the world....waaaay better applications can be had than that for 5 mil While I agree with you in that I would not choose that type of theater with my $5M, it is all perspective with a list of unknowns. This person may have gotten the equipment for next to nothing and/or has so much money that $5M is like you or I dropping $10-20K on a theater that we like. Hell, I've seen folks spend $100M + on a boat. Could be this person just wants an over-the-top room to show off; who knows. Either way, it is what they wanted and I suspect makes them happy. Scott

It must be nice to belittle anything out of your ordinary world of conceptions. It must be nice to have such a lofty opinion of oneself so as to be unable to ridicule what needs ridiculing. Some things or actions in this world truly are ... hmmm, trying to think of a nicer word than "stupid" but words fail me at this point. Sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings at this time year. I'm a little politically incorrect but so be it.

So who is going to say that if they give it to you for free that you not going to take it and also please post your address so I can personally drive to your home and tell you that you a liar.... You say this because you yourself would like/enjoy it so it's hard for you to accept that others might not; but there truly are people (like myself) who find this kind of thing disgusting. If it was given to me I'd part it out and do something different with the cash. If you know what you're doing, you can spend less than 100K and get the same "benefits" that this system has. Some people don't understand the concept of "diminishing returns" or "stupidly extravagant". In any case, I tell you with 100% certainty that I do not envy or desire this system. I'd PM you my address but I doubt you're willing to drive to Canada Here is an analogy, in "car format":

I'm not sure I agree...... My local iMax theater has a system that gets impressively loud..... And, make no mistake, it also sounds pretty good. But I think the pair of Stealth 8's in my living room actually sound better. And, if you carry that over to just music, the last half dozen audio concerts I've heard in various concert halls didn't sound as good as my living room either. I'm not a classical fan, and, for virtually all music of other types, what you're listening to is the public address system in the venue..... Most of those I've heard lately get very loud, and some even sound quite good, but they lack that last little bit of clarity and precision I expect in a good home system. lets not get crazy now haha but I bet for 5 mil. can get pretty much EXACTLY whats in a professional commercial cinema,,...and isnt that the goal of Home theater? Agreed.

I was thinking the same thing.... especially a big GLASS coffee table. (I also saw a lot of other things that seemed more intended to look impressive than to sound good.) Usually having a coffee table in front of your listening seat is a bad idea, but the Nautilus might make a good diffusor.

Hey, you spend that kind of money to impress people, not to listen to music, right... it's probably not even hooked up. My guess about the price discrepancy is that the collection of equipment cost $5m, and the extra $1m is to pay the air conditioning bill to keep the room cool with all those tubes running. Now that is a good question. I don't see any wires, or Cabling either. Hmmm. Sub floor....... Besides the "subwoofers" Bill

Lots of Christmas joy going around here. Peace on earth --good will toward men There sure is. But oh well, does anyone expect different on this forum? This is the second thread in two days that basically covers the same topic. And the usual imature jealous smart @$$ ones just pile on with their pointless reteric and back handed stabs, always trying to belittle the people that have more than they do, don't agree with them, or have differing ideas about things. Nothing new here on this forum.🙄

If I had that kind of cash I would want it to look as good as it sounded. The Hill Country Theater looks like a place I would want to watch movies with my friend, and party with scantily dressed women. I dont know what it sounds like but to me a high end home theatre should still look like a high end screening room. Edit - I just noticed what looks like granite at the back, why would you do that?
