I'm pretty sure the two board combo will be ready for my birthday, which will make it easy to decide an a present for myself. October/November, you think so? That would be nice. For me thats still so far away.

Seriously? Delayed AGAIN? I have 5 devices (XB1S, PS4 Pro, Roku 4 Ultimate, OPPO UDP-203, and PC with Titan X[Pascal]) that I want to run through my $2500 XMC-1 @4k and/or HDR and it is delayed by months again? I've had Emo stuff for years and years- but these consistent, constant delays are beyond irritating. I have to run splitters and extra cables all over the place to use the full features of my devices. I was excited when they said this new upgrade board would be ready in Spring 2017 because that single port upgrade with no HDR was a huge disappointment. Four months later and another delay? I can honestly say I've never had any faith in their stuff being released when they say- but that doesn't make it suck any less every single time. I have been coming into these boards every single week for over half a year waiting on this board upgrade. Sorry to sound so negative.

I read report, however I did not see a clear information. «when the work is complete» is quite vague to me. While I understand it is the same board, I don't see the point to link the availability of this board to the completness of the work of the RMC

Thanks Mark. I read report, however I did not see a clear information. «when the work is complete» is quite vague to me. While I understand it is the same board, I don't see the point to link the availability of this board to the completness of the work of the RMC The XMC-1 HDMI/HDCP and/or ATMOS/DTSX boards are the same as the RMC-1 boards, so when the RMC-1 boards are finished the XMC-1 boards will be finished. My read on the podcast was that the XMC-1 update/upgrade boards will be available at the same time as the complete RMC-1 is available. This is because the boards are the last ones they have to complete, as the chips have only recently become available. The rest of the RMC-1 is finished or close to being finished, they were just waiting on the chips from the manufacturer (and the necessary sign off from the regulators, licensees etc) which had to be to latest available as last year's/month's/week's chips weren't up to it. Cheers Gary

While I understand it is the same board, I don't see the point to link the availability of this board to the completness of the work of the RMC The reason they are linked is that they are the same board. When 1 HDMI board is done, so is the other. As to "clear information", what is there is the latest we have. I suspect the next improvement in clarity will coincide with the announcement that it is shipping. That's the way it goes w/Emotiva. They do not quote firm dates until an item is shipping imminently...as in - about to be put on the website to be able to order. Mark

Speaking of the Atmos/DTS:X board, have we heard anything about how Dirac is going to work with the height channels? Is it just going to ignore them, or will Dirac support more than 8 channels on the XMC-1?

We all know that Q4 ends dec 31. Is there a better visibility on the release date? Thank you

I posted the original note here exactly a year ago, and we are still no closer to getting the V3 video board with 4K compliant handling? What the hell is the issue here? Why is this taking so long?
Two weeks ago I called the Sales line and asked to order the board because it was listed on the web site. But they said "Ummmm, it's still not quite available. Should be in a week." That was two weeks ago.

They're actually a lot closer.... We have boards and firmware in-house and are now testing and debugging them. This project includes custom parts which are simply not widely available (there is only one source for the one we need), so we have no choice but to wait until our supplier... supplies them.
