Subwoofer Doing Double Duty As An End Table?

So does anyone here use their subwoofer to double duty as an end table, like at the end of a couch etc? Maybe by putting a piece of glass on top so it doesn't get scratched?

I'm curious because there are only 2 places in my entire room where a stand alone dedicated sub would fit (already have 2 built in subs in my front towers), and the best one is right at the end of the couch, where it could work as an end table. Doing this would also help with the WAF.

So has anyone done this?

Let me clarify, I know people have made end tables into subs, or made end tables with subs in them, or just put end tables over subs.

I'm just wondering if anyone has used a straight up sub, like a big SVS one, as, itself, an end table?

I dunno. Good question. That's the sort of thing I'm wondering about.

Just make martinis but don't bother shaking or stirring them. Wind up the volume instead!

My end table/ sub works just fine. I've been using it in this manner for well over a year. I really good sub doesn't shake,,,,or stir any drink set on top of it.

Ah ha! Now that's what I'm talking about. I like it.

So no issues?

For my rig I was thinking maybe some screw in knobs (that would match my cabinets), small rubber pads on those, then a piece of 3/8" tempered glass.

Imagine this sort of metal knob screwed into the top of a subwoofer, to give the glass a little breathing room. Kind of like a stand off.

No problems ever! God help me for saying it out loud,,,,,,he,,,,,he,,,,,,,
I have another one in the front right behind my Studio 100, a smaller sub to my right behind me. Absolutely no nulls that effect our two seated positions. Can't tell where the bass is coming from at all. Just full and accurate. Placed it here by eliminating other spots and found it perfect.

If I got one, it has to go at the end of the couch, under the window, in the upper left in this diagram.

We, Little Walter Music Festival have tried to hire him on more then one occasion but his pricing and riders made that beyond our reach. Real shame because he is from Louisiana. I won that authentic autographed guitar at last years LWMF. Wish I knew how to play, I've tried to learn but have no talent for playing an instrument. I am rather good at organizing events though.

Yes. Sometimes whatever I put on it "dances", but what the heck.

I had 2 MFW-15 subs in cherry that worked great as end tables. I put felt pads on anything we put on them. Funny thing any lamps we put on them would eventually stop working and had to replace the socket and wires.

Hi bonzo, it is exactly my case, I'm using my SVS PB2-plus as an end table because my living room is too small and it was the better compromise for the sound and the utility, so far absolutely no problem since to date, naturally in normal music listening levels I can let glasses of drinks on without any problems of spilling or shacking, but when I'm listening an action movie at high volume level I can't let anything on sub because the vibrations will throw down everything over, same thing for big music party. For scratching the surface I really don't worry about this because my 2004 SVS model is finished in a commercial grade indestructible rough vinyl finish like the professional mobile sonorisation speakers.
