Yeah i know i'm building the 300b speaker amp on the side, but i saw this for sale and always wanted one. it came with Emission Labs quad tubes so why not. This was a early example with partial silver output transformers and default interstage transformers. 6watts of flea power so it's only going to work with horns basically. It's built like a tank and has all the audiophile voodoo i.e. high frequency ac heaters, tube b+ rectification, audio transformers, etc that come with the flagship models.
Parallel 2A3 Single Ended Triode. This should work really well for high Z headphones and high efficiency speaker (dual purpose), which is what makes it useful for me.
This amp slams pretty hard, but not as hard as a modified behemoth 45 x 4 version that i once heard (probably 15k in exotic transformers). This 2a3 amp is more upfront and intense presentation compared to the airy and more laidback 45. Separation and imaging is top notch of course. Obviously it beats the **** out of my poor torp3 in every possible attribute except price.
