When I read Dan's complete post, it discussed promotional prices two or three times per year, i.e. seasonal sales, did somebody read something else?

Prices did go up on some items. That may be attributed to other forces such as increased parts and supplier cost.
I still think you will see sales on discontinued items as well as slow moving items. No company wants to store a large amount of product that doesn't move. One way to move it is to have a sale.
I'm good with the way they want to do things. Won't stop me from buying something I really want.

As an update, I did speak with customer service and they did confirm that the customer loyalty program and 40% discount cards will still stay in effect.
Perhaps now that they do not need to makeup as much margin due to sales, there may be some room for modification of the return policy. As it stands, one of the greatest barriers to people buying amps or speakers is the fact that they would be doing so without hearing them first (in many instances). Unfortunately, these are two bigger ticket items that require the buyer to listen first and decide later. How many more sales (purchases) on speakers or amps would there be if the customer knew that they didn't have to pay an arm and a leg to send it back should they not be happy with it? Think about it, when then Airmotiv 15" sub arrives in your home and you decide its' not for you, who is going to want to pay to ship that beast back?!
Just a thought for expanding the sales. Hope Dan is following this thread.

Thanks for calling in and confirming the loyalty program status. I'm sure Dan or one of his assistants is monitoring this thread closely.

Emotiva's prices are not high even after many years that they could have raised there prices. They are bringing there manufacturing from china to Franklin TN and building more complicated gear that requires the latest and greatest chips. They are doing this for your listening pleasure and I support them on this business move if it helps them move forward with new gear. Emotiva is finding ways to make new technology gear and keep there prices lower than others doing the same thing.

Hope Dan is following this thread. The problem I see with free return shipping is then not only is the cost of "free" shipping built into the price, but so is the cost of return free shipping. I am fine with building the shipping to the customer cost being built into the price since that is spread across everyone who buys the product. But building "free" return costs into the product unfairly penalizes those who choose to keep the item. Also, I feel free return shipping acts as too much encouragement for people to just order something on a whim with no intention of keeping the product since they know it costs nothing to listen and then send it back. What Emo could do is let the person returning it pay for a prepaid label at Emo's freight cost since they must get volume shipping discounts.

He said that this is what Emo was offering, and the decision was to put an end to it. That was my point, it only discussed the seasonal promotional sales, and putting an end to those. And now, it's been confirmed that the 40% cards and upgrades for life are unaffected.

Glad to hear that the 40% cards will still work for the small crowd of us that still have them....
And I'm glad to hear that there is price stability on the horizon. It's not a bad thing.

And the 40% discount cards? I would expect them to be honored, any confirmation on this?

Emo's prices have gone up since I bought my first of many products from them (an XPA-3 in 2009). But understandably so. Materials and labor costs have gone up. They have expanded their product line which makes for more overhead. And as you pointed out, they moved manufacturing locally to Tennessee from China. Their prices, while higher now, are still the best deal out there for quality gear. So many people talk about wanting to support Made In USA stuff, but there's a cost for doing so.
