I currently use my A-100 to drive my HE-6, and wanted to try to use the Little Dot as a tube preamp.
My question is: Should I leave the volume maxed out on the A-100 and use the Little Dot to control the volume as it is technically acting as the preamp, or would the A-100 be better at handling that? Maybe I just need to experiment and see which I prefer?

Experiment. Don't cost nothing. Personally I would max out the DOT and use the volume on the BasX

See which one does better. I'm guessing the A-100 would be better at the volume while the little dot will act as a tube buffer of sorts.

The Little Dot would probably not have enough power to drive the HE-6 well, plus I don't want to have to get the adapter box.
