All,
Just moved into a home only covered by ATT and cant figure out how to hook up the cable box to my new UMC 200. I'm a bit of a novice to the HT world and would appreciate the help. The ATT box the Cisco that they just installed.

Does the Cisco have an HDMI output? If so, connect that to the UMC's HDMI input.

You could connect that HDMI output to the UMC and then UMC's HDMI output to the TV. That would allow you to watch TV through the UMC.
Are there any other types of output on that box? e.g. coax or optical? You could also consider just pushing the audio through the UMC and keep video going to the TV as now.

First. Thank you for the very quick response. If I go with the first suggestion then I am bypassing the Cisco router? I would like to do that, just not sure how I will get the ATT signal. Sorry for my entry level questions.

Thanks. I just looked and my model is IPN 330HD. I pulled up the manual and they do not show a way to hook up to the UMC 200. This tells me I have an older unit and need to request one that supports the use of a processor. Bummer. I was hoping to conclude this today.

As Hemster already stated, run an HDMI cable from the HDMI out of the IPN330HD to an input on the UMC-200, then run another HDMI cable from the output on the UMC-200 to your display. If you don't like this option, run an HDMI cable from the IPN 330HD directly to your display and also use an optical cable from IPN 330HD optical output to the UMC-200 for audio. It won't matter which way you choose for bitstreaming audio since the IPN 330HD doesn't support lossless audio(ie: Dolby TrueHD/DTS HD-MA/LPCM).

Guys
I have hooked things up as suggested and it works until I change channels on the tv, which causes my XPA 5 to go into protection mode. Thoughts?
