So Im a grado guy, and have picked up wired grados for my whole family. Now that the new I phones don’t have outputs I’m looking to get my daughter a really good noise canceling pair for Christmas. I know everyone says that there are no such thing as “good wireless headphones” she’s headed to collage next year so noise canceling is a must. The word Bose is a cuss word I know but don’t want to rule them out

Look for headphones that are blue tooth compatible. Posting a budget might help with the suggestions.

Eh. Bluetooth and high quality audio don't mix, if you care about that sorta thing. Wire is always better.

I knew the quality of sound is not the same as wired, looking in the $300 to $400 range

Eh. Bluetooth and high quality audio don't mix, if you care about that sorta thing. Wire is always better. Dude, using Sony LDAC it transmits approximately three times more data (at the maximum transfer rate of 990 kbps) than conventional BLUETOOTH® wireless audio, which allows you to enjoy High-Resolution Audio content in exceptional sound quality close to High Resolution Audio. The Sony WH-1000XM2 includes Bluetooth® versionVersion 4.1 and supports Audio Format(s)SBC, AAC, aptX, aptX HD, LDAC. Here is the thing copperpipe , I am using my Sony Walkman and Sony portable amp with a wire to my Sony MDR-1000X Wireless Noise-Canceling Headphones so you can still use a I wire anytime you want with them. The Sony's do not need power at all to use with a cable. The others do, so if your battery is dead it is a no go.

A company called Pendulumic New Tach 1. About $228.00 on Amazon. Might surprise how good they are. Jude from Headfi liked the originals if memory serves.

To keep it in context this is a problem solver for my daughter who only uses an I phone without a head jack, she is not an audiophile. I want to get her a quality set that uses the wireless tec. When she’s home from college and interested in a high end audio experience she will have our dedicated media room to enjoy either wired headphones or a high end audio experience. My guess is the wireless headphones go on and she is just as happy

I like my Sennheiser MB660's - they're Skype for Business certified, active noise canceling, and are my "go-to" headset for pretty much all my needs: airplanes, music, phone calls, conference calls (I'm on conference calls a lot using Skype for Business), etc.
The non-Microsoft certified version is the PXC 550

My Sony LDAC Bluetooth is CD quality and with great noise canceling you can be in downtown New York city and hear nothing but your music.

So I picked up the Sony’s for my daughter.... second set for me on the way these are phenomenal Bluetooth is definitely getting better. I really like those Sony's, kind of mad at myself for not buying when the price dropped... Many of the other highly recommended ones sound good but are just too heavy. I havent bought a pair of Bluetooth headphones yet, I still use a dongle to make all of my easier to drive headphones "wireless". Mine is pretty old but there are supposed to be really good ones that have gone on the market recently. Fiio and A&K are 2...
