You came here asking what might be wrong. It was suggested to do a restart but I guess you don't want to do that. You'll probably have to call Emotiva then. And this is assuming you are in the right place in the menu. I'm not sure what we can do for you here so calling would be the next best option.

I'll save you a trip, I plan to run the thing over with my truck before it goes in the trash. I couldn't inflict this thing on any one else. Sounds selfish and dumb to me. So you would rather destroy it then allow someone else use it................... So why would anyone want to help you out with your problem when you talk such nonsense.... I would be happy to send you a prepaid shipping label as I am sure many others would....................................

I wonder if I could get some sucker to give me a large for this lump as it is, then I could add the grand it will EVENTUALLY cost me to "upgrade" the HDMI, then I would have almost enough for an 8802a. Hmmmmm.

Hmmmmm. The HDMI upgrade is $399. Maybe it would be best to sell it right here on the Lounge and get that 8802A you want. You should have no trouble getting a "large" for an XMC-1.

Hmmmmm. I'd be happy to give you a large for that POS XMC shipped. PM me and feel free to refer to me as a sucker; I'm thick skinned.

Any clear thinking 💭 individual who invests in a fine piece of hardware such as the XMC-1, and has a problem.....would most certainly be contacting Emotiva technical support, and would be straightened out in short order.
I now believe what we have here is simply a Troll out to make trouble for reasons only the OP could know. Good time to put the lid on this one, were you to ask me.

There is no frustration quite like the frustration you feel when an expensive piece of equipment is giving you trouble. Whether it is equipment glitches, user error, or lack of understanding doesn't matter at the time.
What I don't understand is coming to a message board where everyone is trying to help you, and if they can't.....a company is there to try to help fix a problem.......and the poster chooses "none of the above" and trashes the company and the equipment without trying to actually fix the problem.
It's a real headscratcher unless there is another agenda.

LMAO at YOU.
Like others suggested, if you really wanted a solution, you would have called Emotiva Customer Support.................. Guess you don't want a solution and just want to *bleep* and moan..... Good Luck with that approach in Life...........................

Guys can I jump in here with a different subject, cause I don't know where to ask this question and this thread seems to have gone silly anyway? When I change inputs on my XMC-1 it defaults to dtsNeo6 Music and I don't want it to. I have gone into the menu and selected dtsNeo6 Cinema on several oft used inputs. The manual says it "saves" my selection upon exiting. I have even saved the configuration, but in any and all cases it comes right back to the Music setting. Obviously I don't like this setting, but I am stumped, how to get it to save and default back to Cinema? Any and all help will be appreciated and I love my XMC-1, am not gonna run over it with a truck!!!! Thanks and God Bless, Wayne

You should start another thread for a different topic. I'd be keen to get to the bottom of that problem as I have to fight with my XMC-1 every time a source presents a stereo signal. Pretty obnoxious.

OK, thanks millst, have done. BTW I am still using your mobile remote, thanks!!!! I have trouble with my network finding the XMC-1 half the time, literally. But when I rescan a few times it finds it and it works, or if not, I have to shut down and reboot the XMC-1 and then it finds it. Anyway, thanks. God Bless, Wayne
