I have one potentially significant tip there. If the XMC-1 fails to get a network address (from your DHCP server), and you power the XMC-1 down to reset it, MAKE SURE IT REMAINS OFF FOR AT LEAST FIFTEEN SECONDS. The Ethernet port on the XMC-1 takes several seconds to reset itself.... longer than the rest of the XMC-1. (So, if you turn your XMC-1 Off, then On again, too quickly, even though the rest of the XMC-1 reboots properly, the Ethernet port may not work.) OK, thanks millst, have done. BTW I am still using your mobile remote, thanks!!!! I have trouble with my network finding the XMC-1 half the time, literally. But when I rescan a few times it finds it and it works, or if not, I have to shut down and reboot the XMC-1 and then it finds it. Anyway, thanks. God Bless, Wayne

Too much computer stuff. Go analog as much as possible!!! I totally agree with this, although it’s a “catch 22” for many, if not most of us in this game. I was Just thinking 🤔 about my first AV processor purchased in 2001, and that it carried a retail price of 3400 at that time. It’s obsolescence in the digital domain means you can now pick one up on EBay for 150 bucks and have a killer, analog preamp, but comparatively speaking, a paper weight for anything else for no HDMI. I try to keep things as comparatively simple as possible by running only HDMI with the exception of one rarely used optical. The goal was lossless audio yet able to play the old stuff as simply as possible. Bill

So I sent the think back for a complete checkup and the HDMI upgrade. When it came back the trim problem was still there, and it was so slow to respond to I.R. commands that my TV would lose EDID while waiting for it to switch inputs. Now, it will not power on from standby with the remote, and if I power cycle with the switch it looks like it reboots but when done the power light turns purple and the thing will not pass an audio or video signal. Just me being a troll again, I am sure this is nothing to complain about.
