I just purchased a nice used XMC-1 last month in Nashville from the original owner. My Integra 80.3 laid down on me. I was previously using a DBX PA2 to equalize my front mains for 2 channel and Audessy XT for HT/multichannel. This will be my first experience with Dirac. Possibly, it could end up as a one for all application if I can figure it out. Is anybody out there biamping with the XMC-1?

I'm not bi-amping, but someone will probably chime in soon.

If your looking for the XMC-1 to do the active crossover split, your stuck with the stereo sub-woofer outputs. The built in sub-woofer crossover will go as high as 200 hz. The subwoofer outputs have their own trim level apart from any Dirac settings.
If you want to actively split any frequencies above this, you'll need to buy an active crossover and add it externally.

My DBX PA2 is an active crossover/parametric EQ. For now my only bi-ampable speakers are my JBL XPL-140s. They are by design passively bi-ampable so an active crossover is not needed. I'm using the DBX for room correction, music subwoofer bass management, sub crossover, and sub time aligment correction. I'm curious to see if Dirac will handle all those duties as well or better.

Welcome to the house that Big Dan build! ,,,,,,,,,with help from all his friends and us. 🤪 So happy you found us. You say you purchased a used XMC-1, did you purchase Dirac? One version comes with each new unit but once installed-registered it can not be transferred to another user.
I cant help you with bi-ampping but I can pour you a nice cool glass of Emo Blue! Once again, WELCOME

I purchased the XMC-1 from the original owner. I called Emotiva and they transferred the remaining balance of the warranty to me. I did purchase the Dirac Live Full license from Emotiva as well for $99.00. However, I cannot get the software to recognize the XMC-1 on the network. Both my HTPC and XMC-1 are connected through a switch with cat 6. For the moment I'm still using my DBX PA2 for room correction for the front mains. I'm hoping that Dirac will eliminate the need for the DBX, although I may still use it for as an active crossover because it appears that the XMC-1 does not offer bi-amping capabilities.

If you continue to have problems getting them to see each other Id highly recommend calling Emotiva. The staff there seem to love helping their costumers! I think they live for it. Dirac Live Full will give you many options. A very capable program.

What version of the software is the XMC-1 running? I ask because there was a time when the indication for networking was inverted; can you see the XMC-1 on the network from another computer on the network at all (as opposed to Dirac seeing the unit)?

You might need to allow the firewall on your computer to allow Dirac out. In windows, usually, I run as admin by right clicking the app.

Make sure you buy a calibrated mic, like the UMIK-1. The Dirac files for the default Emotiva mic will give inaccurate room measurements.
