About a week ago my Apple TV thats using HDMI 1 of the XMC-1 started flashing on my TV. I unplugged it, plugged it back in and still the same issue. I also reset it to its factory settings and still the same issue. At that point I just left it and moved on with my week, forgetting about it (I travel for work and am gone much of the week.)
A couple weeks ago I ordered an Oppo 203 that arrived while I was gone. I had planned on hooking it up but then life happened and I'm now moving again. Yesterday, I at least thought it would be a good idea to hook it up and make sure it worked properly before the first 30 days was up. I removed my BDP-105 and replaced it with the 203. The Oppo uses the HDMI 2 input. After hooking it up, I did not get any signal to my TV at all. At first I was thinking I received a defective 203. I pulled it out and replaced it with the 105. Fired it up and no picture to my TV. I then decided to try another HDMI input so I plugged it into HDMI 6. This worked perfectly. I pulled the 203 back out, switched it out once again with the 105 and it worked perfectly using HDMI 6.
HDMI 1 & 2 seem to be the issue. The other 6 HDMI inputs work as they should.
I updated to the latest firmware, 4.1 about a month ago. I haven't had any issues with it up until now.
Anyone have this same experience or have any suggestions?

Seems you have two separate independent problems. Oppo 203 first. Did you make sure that the proper HDMI was in the TV and the other to Audio. Oppo specifies which goes where. This would be my first check as you said all updates were installed on it. Some TVs require a specific HDMI port for 4K as well. Is the Apple TV a 4K model?

The 203 works just fine using one of the other HDMI inputs. That's not the problem. I do not have a 4K TV yet. I purchased the 203 knowing I was more than likely going to upgrade by the end of the year. Current TV is a Panasonic plasma. The Apple TV is the 4th generation, non-4K model.

Have you walked through all the settings of the 203 with the manual? I know it sounds silly but this new model is different then the last and preset settings may differ. Canβt hurt. ππ€ Edit; try a master reset first, then check all settings as suggested

The Input settings on the XMC-1 are the same for all inputs. Master reset on the 203 or XMC?

Ive been without my XMC- since May of last year! π’ sadly the new updated XMC is still missing but I digress! It ended up being a bad cable! I know, makes no sense at all, works with one but not the other. Installed new cables and never looked back. Electronics are funny, but NOT HAHA FUNNY sometimes.

I don't own an XMC-1 but I seem to remember that for at least one of the HDMI boards, the first two HDMI inputs are different than the rest. It could be a hardware problem, or it could be that your XMC-1 lost its mind an you're going to need to reset back to factory defaults. (Again. I don't own an XMC-1 but I've seen various XMC-1 recommending a factory reset to cure all manner of woes ...)

I know this probably doesn't help but I have had many HDMI issues with my XMC-1 over the past 2 years and I have had both my Video board and main board replaced under warranty and the issues still remain. It seems the XMC-1 just doesn't like some cables and some components and I still haven't worked out what is exactly causing it. Its getting to the point where I am seriously considering selling this thing as it just seem buggy.
With mine, it will work flawlessly for weeks and then suddenly the unit freezes and becomes unresponsive and there is no sound. When this happens the XMC-1 requires a hard reboot as does the source component in order to restore functionality. Bear in mind I have a 4k panel and my XMC-1 is pre 4k so the hdmi inputs are audio only - no video is technically being passed to the XCM-1. Weirdly this has also happens with coaxial and toslink inputs as well.

It gave me the opportunity to step away from getting the house ready to sell and ultimately move I just did a hard reset on it and now HDMI 1 & 2 work no problem. I hope I don't have to do this all the time. I haven't even had this thing for 3 months. I'll be sending it back to Emotiva to have them do once over on it and install the 4k board when available. This is about to go into a box for a month anyway. You are also the second person to say something about specific cables. I have a mish mash of HDMI cables. I need to go buy some new ones all at the same time in the future. But the ones I have worked great until a few weeks ago and they worked on the other HDMI inputs. The only other input I've used on this is the USB Stream input and it has worked flawlessly.
