Hey Guys,
I have had my minix since 2013 and have been really really pleased with this little guy overall. Its clean, the noise floor is dead silent, i mean, literally, everything i wanted in an amp for my pc. My problem now is that my amp has been to emotiva twice, once under warranty about a year ago and once a few weeks ago, both for the same issue. My right channel randomly emits a buzz/hum noise for about a second or two and then stops and recurs at varying intervals. Right now it maybe happens once every 5 minutues, previously it increased in interval until i sent it in.. When emotiva first fixed it, the fix was good for about 9 months and the issue manifested again, both times they replaced the output board. I sent it in about 2 months ago, got the amp back and its doing the same thing still. Before you ask, I have troubleshot everything from different RCA's, different power strips, different outlets and i do mean in different buildings, at work and at home including various input sources. I also tested with my outlaw audio monoblocks and tested out the rest of the system pointing fault back to the amp. Its definitely not a ground loop issue or a connection issue.
Any of you had any issues like this? I mean, i just want it actually fixed. Not that i feel like i should have to pay for a repair or replacement at this point since its a recurring issue prior to warranty expiration but i would if it would actually be fixed.
I mean, could this be an AC line noise things? The minix is maybe more susceptible to it than my outlaws are?
thanks for the help and input!

Have you tried a follow up call to a tech at Emotiva about this problem? Ive found them most helpful and understanding about such things. Sometimes you can fix a symptom but not cure the problem. Maybe it was returned to you without the cure. I highly recommend a call. Good luck!

I haven’t heard of any problems with these units, I’d send it back in as they ask and include a detailed description of the recurring problem. Also include the history of the service they’ve provided. Im sure they’ll treat you right. They always have with most customers that I know of. Good luck and please keep us posted. Nick

Nick Nick, i wrote a detailed description both times. I have always been treated well by Emo and Emo has always done what they said they would do. I am a UMC-1 owner and they ironed that out, i was so please, they kept to their word. m I am giving them a cal right now me thinks.
