July 9, 2018 - Ordered V3 HDMI board upgrade to be install by Emotiva July 24, 2018 - Received the return mailing label through email July 25, 2018 - Sent XMC-1 to Emotiva July 30, 2018 - Emotiva received the unit and installed V3 HDMI board along with two warranty repairs July 31, 2018 - Emotiva sent the unit back to me August 3, 2018 - Received my repaired XMC-1 After I first installed XMC-1 back into my home theater room, I fired it up right away. But projector does not recognize the video output from XMC-1. After checking all the connections and cables, I tried again but no picture still. I thought I might have to send it back or have to change the main HDMI cable (35' long) to projector through the ceiling conduit. Out of frustration, I tried to change every video inputs, bluray, HTPC, Chromcast, etc back and forth and "voila", the screen finally appeared. Once the projector recognized the video output from XMC-1, it has been stable so far. Hopefully, it was just a fluke that it didn't recognize the video output from XMC-1. It might be my imagination but all my videos look better than before but it is little slow to response from the remote inputs. One little quirk that I am experiencing is one of the subwoofer makes popping noise whenever I change the volume or when it is locking into new surround format changes. My other subwoofer does not behave like this. I am not sure why only one of them is making popping noise. I disabled this offending subwoofer for now. Hopefully, I can find the solution. If anyone knows why, please do tell me. Now all I need to do is upgrade my projector to 4k model and 4k sources.
