Respectfully. Why doesn't Emotiva release this information here at least simultaneously? I don't know, but they are a legitimate source. Meaning I highly doubt they made this up.

Hard to say if that is accurate, but Nov 15th seems like a realistic date. Give the HDMI board time to iron out (if in fact it needs to on the RMC versus the XMC) and have time to get some beta RMC-1's out in the wild. I am still holding on to my 40% off card for now, I really like my Marantz 8802a, but if the reviews of the RMC are good then I still may get one.

I also wouldn't be surprised if this date comes and goes. But if it means a better, more stable product hits the market, so be it.

I am not doubting AV Nirvina, I don't think they were posting #fakenews (lol), I am just hoping that Emotiva makes the Nov 15th date. I do agree with you that Emotiva needs to have a stable product (within reason) out of the box.

I just hope they prioritize giving the future available speaker layouts with their expansion modules asap. I don’t want to wait till November or worse to finish running wires and installing. I need to seal everything up so I can start enjoying at least 7.1 until november.

Let's see if they can keep their step 1 promise first, which is RMC-1 information by the end of this month.

I am looking forward to having the RMC in the system once it's ready, I am picking up an 8805 to tide me over until then.

I need to seal everything up so I can start enjoying at least 7.1 until november. I would say you are in a small percent of those who will/would buy a channel expanded RMC-1; that is, those wanting 24 channels (or even 16+). I hope they’re prioritizing the HDMI and Atmos functionality (I think they’ve got the balanced channel thing down). We know there are HDMI problems, and Atmos/DTS:X is a whole new bag for them (and it sounds like Dolby has a new hoop to jump through). They have CEDIA in a couple weeks and I think they want to have a shipping date (taking orders would be even better). If you’re looking for a speaker layout I imagine any news is coming from Dolby anyway, you either have to wait, or take your best shot and start enjoying your system. Sorry, while I find the expansion channel modules interesting, and both a feather in their cap (for being in this new Dolby camp), and for showing the expansion capabilities of the base design; they need to focus on making the most stable, high performance, base unit they can, and get it out the door. I could even buy a sub module and I have the room for 9.2.6, but I want to see what this thing can do before seriously considering that kind of expansion.

It's been speculated and confirmed by Lonnie that the HDMI problems are limited to the implementation of an HDMI card designed specifically for the RMC-1 into the XMC-1.

Haha I know functionality is more important. I just mean I hope they relay the info ASAP as soon as they know what will be supported. I want it as a priority not the top priority above getting the system to the market. I’d rather enjoy 9.4.6 until the layouts are supported. I’m good with that wait. But I’d rather have it be all set so I just add the amps and module not rip my treatments apart and rewire.

Right, I saw that when he first posted it and I hope the RMC’s HDMI is rock solid ... but that was posted before the V3 was released, and being an owner has me a bit cautious.

I'm of the mindset that the V3 card has been in existence for quite some time. They had it on display at last year's CEDIA in an RMC-1. The release delay was due to creating the firmware to make that card run on the XMC-1. That's where the HDMI problems were.

I don't think they will have major issues with the HDMI board, but like any product they will have some issues during the early portions of release. I would guess it will be more solid than the V3 board was at release, but they will have some issues. If D&M etc have issues at release with the size of their staffs Emotiva will have issues as well. I think that Emotiva will be quick to fix them and I am really excited to see this system roll out.

I just called. They were very non-committal on the release date even after mentioning the AVNirvana post. He would not comment on whether Auro-3D is still being considered. He said they are aiming to have the RMC-1 page on their website up by the end of the month and it would fill in a lot of details.

^^^ As Bonzo said, the web page is the first commitment, and our first opportunity to see it on paper. I’m looking forward to reading about it.

The Positive Feedback press copy has a bit more detail than the Audio Nirvana news release, but has a number of odd errors in it like listing the Asahi Kasei Microdevices AK4490 DAC Chips[1] in the Video Capabilities section. It also lists the ability to upgrade Firmware via the Management RJ45 Ethernet ... which would be awesome if it were true ... Casey [1] I'm presuming that Emotiva is still planning on using the AK4490ENs as announced almost two years ago. I had hoped that given that the AK4490s have been replaced by the AK4493EQ almost a year ago that we might see that in the RMC-1, but it is currently only available in the "EQ" packaging and not the "EN" packaging as far as I can see ...
