NOTES:
- You DO NOT need drivers for recent Apple computers with the DC-1, XDA-2, or Ego+ DACs.
- You DO NOT need drivers for current versions of Windows 10 or Windows 11 with the DC-1, XDA-2, or Ego+ DACs.
(Some very old versions of Windows 10 required drivers.)
(you can tell those versions because they include 3D Paint instead of MS Paint)
- The DC-1, XDA-2, and the USB Stream Input on the XMC-1, need the UNIFIED DRIVERS for Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1
- The DC-1, XDA-2, and the USB Stream Input on the XMC-1 need the WINDOWS 10 DRIVERS for older Windows 10
- The EGO DACS need drivers for ALL WINDOWS VERSIONS BEFORE WINDOWS 10 CREATORS EDITIONS
- The USB Inputs on the PT-100 and TA-100 DO NOT NEED DRIVERS (they are USB Audio Class 1 devices)
- The USB Input on the XDA-1 DOES NOT need drivers - but is limited to 16/44k
[NEW NOTE added 2024-07-11]
- We have had recent reports that, when you first connect an Ego+ DAC to a Windows 11 computer, you may see an error message reporting: "Emotiva Ego DAC: Driver Not Available"
You DO NOT need drivers and may safely ignore this warning; your Ego+ DAC will be available and work just fine with the internal Windows drivers.
INSTALLATION NOTE:
- EGO DACS - We have a known issue where Symantec A/V products (Norton) report a virus infection in the Ego driver installer; this is a FALSE POSITIVE; there is NO VIRUS
(the ERRONEOUS virus warning occurs for the INSTALLER, but not the driver itself, so the solution is to disable Symantec, install the drivers, then re-enable Symantec)

Current (INTERIM) drivers for the RMC-1 USB Stream input:
Note [UPDATED 6/28/2019]:
These are INTERIM drivers...
However, we have now confirmed that they will support sample rates up to 24/192k PCM on Windows 7.
(In order to enable support for sample rates above 24/96k you WILL need to enable USB Audio Class 2 operation by going to Setup | Advanced on your RMC-1 and checking the box for "USB Audio UAC2".)
You do not need this driver if you have a recent Apple computer or are running any of the several most recent versions of Windows 10.
(This driver has been tested on Windows 7, but may also work on Windows 8 / 8.1, and older versions of Windows 10.)
To install these drivers:
- download the ZIP file from the link
- extract the single EXE file inside
- run the EXE file to install the driver (connect the RMC-1 when it tells you to "connect your device")
