30 days since the email is "going dark"? Ok... Mark 30 days since this email but what about the 30 or more days before the email? What is acceptable to you as far as a time frame that these issue should be resolved? This stupidity has been going on for almost three months and still not a peep from Emotiva. What an embarrassment. While I think that 30 days with no general correspondence on a product that is a big deal to many people might feel like a lot, it seems to be mostly par for the course with Emotiva. This is a small company with decent, but limited resources. They are trying to please their current/older customers and ready themselves to be relevant in the future. That probably isn't the easiest thing to do. An answer on firmware updates that will bring about fixes would be nice though....

You guys realize that the folks writing the code are not the ones corresponding, right? The folks who are corresponding with customers about the firmware are currently in San Diego at CEDIA, and have been busy prepping for that for the past few weeks. The guys writing the code are still working on the code. They're just not in charge of communications.

I was just trying to point out that they are not a big company and are trying to set themselves up for the future while simultaneously taking care of prior customers. I can understand their plight and still wish for some answers.

I installed the board/software in about 20 minutes (No Rush). Followed the instruction provided plus some additional from some other forum members. XMC seems to be playing well with all the other equipment. I do notice the XMC-1 display change briefly from time to time and just cant catch what it changes too.

Before the V3 upgrade, my XMC-1 worked perfectly with my four sources: DirecTV, Apple TV, Oppo 103, Mac Mini.
Now, after the new board that was factory installed, one of my inputs operates OK, but I cannot get audio when I switch the device back to an otherwise working input. All four inputs work fine which I switch to them. One, however, does not work properly when I switch away from it.
To get audio after switching away, I must perform a rocker switch reboot. That workaround is not acceptable to me, not what I paid for.
The equipment/sources have not changed. The inputs have not changed. I still use the same Harmony Elite with the same programming.
What has changed is that the new board actually is worse than the old board. Sure 4K is wonderful. But as a switch, the device is now something of a failure in my system. It is frustrating for such an expensive device not to do its job.
At this point, I would be better off if I had not upgraded to V3.
This problem goes directly to the functionality of the unit. It does not work as advertised.
I want to know what Emotiva is doing to fix this problem. We have heard nothing, as far as I know, for more than 30 days.
This message may be redundant, but so is my problem.

Would be interested to know how many people would change their answer to this now with the new firmware released?
Still on the fence as to whether or not I should install the board or just sell my XMC-1. The new XMC-2 looks pretty good for what I'll use it for and a bargain with my UFL discount. Still, enjoy my XMC-1 immensely.

I had no audio from my Oppo after installing the board, video was ok. I powered every connected item down at the mains. I then did a factory reset on the XMC-1.
I then did a factory reset on the Oppo and went through its auto setup routine from scratch.
Everything works fine now. So if you are having issues, try resetting the source and its HDMI connections from scratch.

As of the latest 5.3B2 firmware I’ve changed my vote from 3 to 2, I’ll continue to monitor and change as appropriate.

Just voted for option 3. Prior to install all worked fine, my set up is a Zappiti 4k HDR streamer through XMC and out to Epson tw9300 projector ( it's a European model). Projector and Zappiti report that I am sending and receiving 4K HDR at 12 bit 4.2.2 (although XMC reports 8 bit?) all is good until I hit pause on the Zappiti and then the audio goes into a kind of infinate loop and sounds like a mini jack hammer, it's not a loud sound, I guess about 50% of the volume I had set however it is a minor annoyance. Workaround is to switch to a different hdmi input and back and it stops. When I press play all seems ok. Just wondering if anyone else had similar experiences and a solution, I'm on firmware 5.2 as supplied with upgrade.

Just a quick recap, the audio issue was with lossless audio tracks only. 2 Channel, DTS Dolby Digital all had no problems. I installed the latest firmware V5.3 Beta1 and happy to report the audio problem and the display issue have been sorted. I have now changed my vote to option 1, no problems with my current set up (no DV). Thanks Emotiva

I had mine done by Emotiva, and still have issues.... after sending it back twice!!
They are offering me a refund now. I suspect they can’t solve the issues reliably. Some folks have none, some, like myself, still have issues that require a heard boot. Switching sources makes me cringe!

Well I changed my vote to "I'm pulling my hair out...". In my current setup I can't get the power-up sequence and delays(!) of the devices correctly in the Harmony remote. I gave special instructions to my family that they first need to select the TV source option and after it powered up, select on the Harmony the wished source device.... Well that deviates from the ease of use of the Harmony... But if I don't do that there are audio issues when playing multi-channel FLAC files etc. Also the V3 board is very picky when an attached device is switched on... I'm not very happy with the V3 board if I could revert back I would do it and sent the V3 board back and reclaim my money.

Would be interested to know how many people would change their answer to this now with the new firmware released? I couldn't get ARC or CEC to work with the V2 upgrade, so I upgraded to V3 thinking they had fixed that. Instead, it now takes about 10 seconds to change sources, and I have to hard reset the XMC1 every few days when it stops responding, and the firmware upgrade improved that from needing to reboot daily.
