It went from older firmware circa 2014 to 2018 firmware, just arrived today.
Hooked it up to my XPA-2 via XLR & my Magnepan MG-12's, will hook up other speakers this weekend.
So far, these are the things I've noticed: - the time to navigate the menu is slower than I remember - the remote freezes when trying to set Reference Stereo mode & reverts back to PLII - the remote freezes randomly (reset is to hit <- -> buttons on XMC-1) - I'll have to check the firmware again but my AppleTV turns pink when I try to activate Dolby Vision (which is sad since a crappy $300 2017 Onkyo has no issues w/ Dolby Vision) - it's early in the morning & the XMC-1 is frustrating me, does the unmodified brand new version of the XMC-1 have the same problems or is it just my unit?
I'm hoping these issues are temporary unless this is the "new" normal in which case it may be time to change my processor to something else.
Are there any XMC-1's w/o the HDMI 2.0b board & old firmware new in box at Emotiva?

My 20 cents; - the time to navigate the menu on mine is the same as it always has been - the remote has never frozen on mine - I have an Apple TV4K and it works fine but I don't have Dolby Vision (ie; Samsung TV)
Questions; - What else have you changed? - HDMI cables? You will almost certainly need to.
Cheers Gary

Are there any XMC-1's w/o the HDMI 2.0b board & old firmware new in box at Emotiva? Nope, but there will be a ton available on the used market shortly when the RMC1/2 become available. DV hasn't worked with the new V3 board until the firmware release Markus links, so give that a shot. However if you haven't been reading the V3 board thread, I would read through all of it first - emotivalounge.proboards.com/thread/53043/official-v3-hdmi-board-threadIt also contains good recommendations on specific sequences to follow when upgrading the firmware.

As Lonnie pointed out in the thread, make sure you are using HDMI 2 for output to the TV.

The only thing that changed was the XMC-1 but I've installed firmware 5.3b which was released the same day that I got the XMC-1 back and everything works perfectly (no change of HDMI cables necessary). Dolby Vision is much better on the XMC-1 than what the Onkyo displayed - using the same HDMI cables. There is lag time when switching between HDMI sources to the point where it's noticeable. It's possible it will go away in time but for now, it's slightly annoying. The remote still freezes on occasion but the fix is to use the buttons on the XMC-1. Changed batteries in remote & remote still freezes - time to get a Harmony remote perhaps? Dolby Vision works on my LG B7A OLED monitor and works on Netflix & Amazon Prime Video. My Apple TV 4K works properly, my Roku 4K works properly, my PS4 works properly but my Xbox One S takes some time before the picture shows up when switching to it from any other source. Using HDMI 2 OUT on XMC-1 to go to LG B7A OLED connected to HDMI 2 on TV (ARC).
