So I just got a text today from my phone service offering me a 6 month free trial of Tidal. Has anyone else done this? I'm guessing it's not the hi-rez version? Probably equivalent to the $10 per month version?
I'm thinking it might be a good deal just to give it a try and see what I think.
Anyone have any thoughts or experience with Tidal free trials?

I had a free trial when I got my OPPO Sonica speaker. It was the high rez version and I liked it. It wasn't worth $20 per month to continue to me. This was mainly based on my lack of music listening time available. If you have lots of time for music its probably a great deal.

I started with a free trial from Oppo, I use tidal (integrated with Roon) everyday. Yea, the cd and better quality version.

I recall my trial was 3 months via referral from a friend and that was for the TIDAL HiFi plan.
I like their mobile app a lot but not a big fan of their desktop apps. I still believe Roon is the best way for listening to TIDAL.

I had the 3months trial before I purchased TIDAL..They do have some MQA...but for me IMHO MQA and hi-Rez are just labels. Listening to TIDAL in their hi-fi mode is all I need. A good pre-amp and dac along with some good speakers takes care of the rest. I've compared MQA and a few hi-Rez recordings to TIDALS hi-fi mode and I heard nothing new or impressive.
Also if you are a Veteran there is a substantial discount.

Bonzo When Qobuz launches in the US (currently in beta), they should have a trial as well.

Bonzo When Qobuz launches in the US (currently in beta), they should have a trial as well. Actually the US Qobuz free trial is already on, and can be activated with the promo code CEDIA2018. See the following post, and others below it for further instructions, but it is easy to subscribe, and they do not ask for any credit card or payment information : community.roonlabs.com/t/qobuz-integration-again/47145/136?u=sahmen You just get a three-month free trial of Qobuz in the US, no questions asked

I guess I can try VPN route.

I guess I can try VPN route. Let's see if you can get in by following these steps (that is if they're not the ones you followed in your earlier trial) 1. First you need to sign up here : www.qobuz.com/signup2. After sign up, you need to log in, and then go to your user profile settings. There you will find a place that accepts gift codes. You need to check the "I have a code" box, and then input the CEDIA2018 promo code when prompted: The page in your user profile settings should look like this, with the "I have a gift code" box in the top right hand corner :

Okay, I figured it out. Fantastic! And you actually got the 6-month free trial, instead of the three they gave me, and that's really great. I guess my previous post is now redundant, but then I can leave it there, in case someone else needs to use it.

If it's a free trial I would assume it's full throttle .. that way they have a chance to get you really hooked- like what happened to me after the one month trial (in my case, I even had Master level quality) If you're a student or a military veteran you get a steep duscount on the lossless service. I'm a retired Navy guy and my cost for lossless is 11 buck.
