I've just got the v3, 4k video board for my XMC-1, and am buying a 4k flat screen. I've read the cause of many problems people have with 4k is simply poor cables, 4k uses extremely fast data rates that even some "qualified" cables fail. Emotiva have discontinued selling HDMI cables. Can anyone recommend HDMI cables that are known to be good?
1) I want good cables, not expensive "audio-foolery" cables. 2) Easy to order, from source like Amazon (I'm in Canada). 3) Short lengths needed 3' & 6'. 4) Not really fat cables, that are difficult to route and handle. 5) ARC - Audio Return Channel (Do all cables have ARC?)
Sincerely /blair

Monoprice Certified cables work and are inexpensive. You can buy them direct or from Amazon. They are not super thin, but are flexible enough for most applications.
The thinnest cables I have seen are Audioquest Slinky. However they only come in 2m length and are $50 each in the US. I do have one from my ATV4K and it works great.

I've been using these quite affordable HDMI cables in 6 and 10 feet lengths:

Myself and a friend just ordered some of these here, while I don't run 4K he does but neither of us have anything but good results using them, I also have some Emotiva HDMI cables with no issues. $12 for a 3 pack of 6ft cables www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=15427Chad

If 3 and 6 foot lengths are what you need the cables creimes linked should work well: www.monoprice.com/product?c_id=102&cp_id=10240&cs_id=1024021&p_id=15427&seq=1&format=2I needed different lengths (4 & 8) and wanted them exact, this Slim Monoprice comes in 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8 foot lengths and is very slim and flexible. I’ve been able to pass 4K with HDR10, HLG, and Dolby Vision through the V3 with them, they also pass the ATV Cable Test: www.monoprice.com/product?c_id=102&cp_id=10240&cs_id=1024021&p_id=24187&seq=1&format=2They’re both plain black cables which I also wanted.

I bought monoprice hdmi cables a few months ago but didn't have good experience, one of them fails to work in a couple of weeks. Monoprice sent a replacement, another one always have video issues-blank screen, need to unplug and plug a few times before video show up...

Monoprice sent a replacement, another one always have video issues-blank screen, need to unplug and plug a few times before video show up... That sounds like there COULD be more going on then the HDMI cable (hope you get to the bottom of it.) I use HDMI, just like everyone else that needs to keep current with the technology. BUT... I hate the interface! It’s truly a shame that the current industry standards can’t be met with superior construction (like digital coax) or something similar. Somehow the industry became smarter, yet dumber, all in one stroke. Bill
