I've got the $20/month TIDAL subscription (linked to my Roon core), but when I search for MQA, I get but two albums. Why?

I've got the $20/month TIDAL subscription (linked to my Roon core), but when I search for MQA, I get but two albums. Why? If they are not two different recordings, one remaster bs original, then the other may be whats on your HHD. Look closely and see if one has a “CD” logo and the other “MQA” Let us know.

I remember about 2000 seeing the Escient Tunebase at Overture Audio in Wilmington, DE. My wife fell in love with the concept, but the price was beyond reasonable.
Jump to 2002, and I had 5 Sony CD changers running to a Denon receiver, controlled with Nirvis Slink-e and their CDJ software. It was cool! I could queue up 4 songs as long as they were on different players!
Jump to 2017, and I discovered Roon. I had ripped all my CDs in FLAC, and VOILA! Great sound quality, controllable via iPhone, iPad, PC, Android...
If you're using JRiver, you owe it to yourself to at least try Roon. It's free. Worst thing that'll happen is that you'll love it.

Since the Lounge is infested with Roonies, might I ask a Roon question? About once per every 45 minutes (but on no specific interval), my iPad Roon controller will crash, dumping the iPad back to its first page of apps. During this crash, the music continues playing uninterrupted from the Roon Core, and I can restart the Roon app on the iPad and see what's playing and where in the track the playback is.
I'm suspecting that this is a buffering issue somewhere? Ideas?
Thanks - Boomzilla

I ordered a Small Green Computer sonicTransporter to use in its place. Trying to find out if it's a Mac Mini issue, if it's Roons software or my WiFi network. I'll report back with my findings if the thing every ships...

The Roon iOS Controller app is just very buggy and crashes a lot for me. But it's no mystery as to why the music keeps playing: once the controller sets things in motions it's not required to be running. You can fully close the iOS app and things will continue to play.

Let me know if you're interested in a 60 day trial. I have a code that I don't need because I'm a lifetime sub.

boomzilla , the iOS application Roon Controller generally works "well enough". I'd like it to crash less often and not have the weird screen refresh when I open it up, but meh ... It serves its purpose. And, there is a Roon Support community. I suppose I could file a bug but that would take too much time ... :-) Casey

My guess is that different iOS devices have different issues. I'm using an iPhone 6s Plus. wilburthegoose is using an iPad (which has a different screen size (pixels)) and may be using a different iPhone also with a different screen size. Casey

I get the impression Roon remote app development is weighted toward tablets. Total guess.

The UI on an iPad is better because there is more screen real-estate. There are also some features that aren't ported to the iPhone.

Yeah, my friend said the same thing about the iPhone versus iPad implementations of the Roon Controller: more information and more controls. But I don't own an iPad and the iPhone UI is "good enough" for my needs.
A lot of people really get into the vast amount of Meta Data that Roon offers. I occasionally look at it, but mostly I just use it to control things. As I've mentioned before, I was previously using the now Logitech-abandoned Squeeze Server and the writing was definitely on the wall for that. That was my biggest reason to shift to Roon.
That said, Roon's "Radio Play" feature is actually really nice. If you leave that on, when the Roon Core Server gets to the end of your Play List, it starts selecting tracks that sound like the last track, one at a time. It actually does remarkably well. So you can pick an album to start the evening off with which sets your mood and then Roon will start adding things after the album has played ...
