Regardless of hardware or software used.

In addition to my typical selections, my βotherβ selection is my daughter playing piano and flute. She practices/performs in the house frequently, no charge!

I do only streaming, but on occasion - the Stone's come by for some wicked jams on my back deck by the pool. By the way, simpleman68 spelled pi wrong. I also like pi...it's been a never-ending delight for me. (math nerds unite!) Mark

The best live music in our house always came out of my Dad at his concert grand piano...and 2nd best was him on ukelele on a cruise around the lake I grew up on - late at night on the pontoon boat. I use Spotify when I want background music or music on the patio. When I do 2 channel critical listening itβs on Tidal or Vinyl.

I stream tidal/Roon via usb most of the time. I play cdβs, SACD, dvd-audio, Blu-Ray audio, and concert Blu-ray/dvd formats (two channel and multichannel) on occasion. XM radio and cd in the car. I have too many albums that have not been played in years and gave all my cassettes to a friend.

I tried Spotify for a bit and didn't like how it took over my computer. No matter what I set it to, it would always turn on and take over. Took months to get rid of it running Windows 7 64. I had to do a lot of internet research to finally get it off the computer. Very frustrating.

"Other": Along with the files, streams, SACD/DVDAs, I like to participate in live acoustic jams in & around my hometown. Also, live concerts & shows, especially small venues, like coffee houses or, my favorite of ANY type, intimate acoustic living room concerts, where a small group, usually 20-30 people, gather in some one's home to hear a band play 2 or 3 sets live, sans P.A. equipment. Just Google "house concerts" in your area to find them. πππ

99% streaming TIDAL...using Mac Mini and AUDIOSERVER. I use to be 100% cd but technology has come a long way over the last ten years in regards to home audio 2channel listening I cannot imagine what will develop in the next decade.

I have had an appreciation for music since I was probably 9 years old with my first transistor radio. Yeah, I am that old born in 1950. Had a record player since I was 10, the old type with the single speaker and the metal needle that you screw in to the tone arm. I have owned equipment such as 4 track & 8 track tapes, cassette players, reel to reel tapes, CD's, Vinyl records, Quadraphonic equipment, external hard drives, and attended many concerts. I now have some of the current Emotiva equipment as listed in my profile. Cant imagine what I have spent over the years but I must say that music has brought me so much enjoyment over the years that I will never regret my investments. Just saying how lucky we all are to have what we have and hear what we hear. Cant imagine whats next in the music world. Sorry for the long reply.

You forgot to include my favorite way to listen to music--live performances not in my house. I average a two or three shows a month.

I do find their playlist and recommendations for music based on my listing habits to be a big step up from Tidal.

Surfings not just a sport, its a way of life, its no hobby. Its a way of looking at that wave and sayin, hey bud, let's party.

Now, when I'm laying on a floaty with a cool drink in my hand with some sweet tunes coming through the Def Tech...I'm laying back dreaming of hitting the surf...kinda like Spiccoli! Mark

My two-channel listening, though I convert that to Auro-3D, is mostly done via Apple Music. I tried 16/44.1 via Tidal and cannot tell a difference. My surround sound music listening is done directly from a disc.
