Glad this got its own thread. It’s been getting discussed in the rmc thread.
I’m intrigued and excited for this. I REALLY hope it’s got multiple Dirac presets. I also hope that Dirac will start to handle multiple subwoofers correctly.
Will be awaiting more info.
I wonder if a 12 channel model is also in the cards.

Not sure why it's in the RMC thread as things like this need their own thread otherwise it gets burried. This thing even has Alexa integration, streaming audio and will be a roon end point.

I’m kind of digging the simple design.

Not the prettiest face plate IMO. Also what flavor of Dirac does it sport at this price point? As always, the devil is in the details........

"Based on Monoprice’s ability to deliver Monolith products on time, this date should hold true." That's got to be a friendly shot at another brand we all know, right? Based on it's limited 16 channels, this appears to be a in direct competition with the RMC-2. It also says it has Alexa, but a Echo device is required. Soooooo, does that just mean it can have an analog output from a Echo Dot plugged in or does it mean you can somehow control the processor with an Alexa skill?

Interesting that it comes with a chromecast, Does that also mean there could be some google assistant connectivity ??

It definitely seems interesting but with my UFL the RMC-2 is the more compelling buy. But for others, I can see them taking a hard look at this processor.
I’ll most likely be getting their sealed 15” sub - looks to be offering a lot for the money.

And just deserved. Ya wanna know what's sad? The fact that I believe THEM when they say their date. I 100% absolutley positively do not believe "the other brand." And what's more, with the posibility of people from the likes of Theta, Lexicon, and Datasat working on it, I have a lot more confidence that it will work properly straight out of the gate, not have 6 months of constant firmware updates, AND, that it will sound great too. Very interesting indeed. Unfortunately for me, 2 analog inputs and zero digital outputs makes it a no show. I am curious about the analog output though. Is it a zone 2, a record out loop, variable or fixed, or the best case, switchable between options as to what it does?

Good way from ATI to enter a lower priced market without affecting their brands perception

Sounds like they’ve been in the 16 channel game for a long time with what ATI owns so I don’t think its the same comparison to Emotiva moving into the high end high channel processors. A little more rebranding and trickling down for Monoprice. Prob same with their amps.

Q3 '19 is an eternity from now, on top of that.

Q3 '19 is an eternity from now, on top of that. But do you truly believe deep down in your heart that the RMC-2 will be out and running perfectly by then either? Only time will tell.

Very interesting indeed. Unfortunately for me, 2 analog inputs and zero digital outputs makes it a no show. I am curious about the analog output though. Is it a zone 2, a record out loop, variable or fixed, or the best case, switchable between options as to what it does? It looks to follow the trend of fewer analogue inputs/outputs Bonzo . I would bet its only a zone 2 output as that is the bare minimum these days so the marketing department can list zone capable . Considering they put more store in having an obscure digital AES/EBU input a fixed/variable 2ch analogue output is no chance imo It looks like a downmarket version of the ATP16 announced last year ; that one will have datasat and ATI engineers working on it ; I cant see the same resources being applied to something 6k less but nevertheless hope it surprises as a good value Balanced operation costs considerably more when its input to output... Had a wry grin when I read ''shipping in april '' ; Ide love to hear their excuse ; as Rich intimated they may have redesigned it? ; dropped the whole idea ? Nice to see ; now whats the word ? ; infallible ; trustworthy ??...

Out, yes, since it's finished I'm guessing, and they just need to ramp up manufacturing. Perfect? Maybe. I think the RMC-1 should be pretty solid by then and I am guessing the RMC-2 has all of the same guts that are causing the RMC-1's issues, so it'll be solid as well. jmo.
