Speculation thread, go for it........... To kick it off I thought I 'd look at last year's CES threads and see what was announced and what has actually happened (same as I did for the 2017 CES announcements) The very first item mentioned was the DC-2, as of today not seen out in the wild. The RMC-1, just made it during the year, a great effort. XMC-2 (was called the the "New XMC-1" back then), also not yet sighted. Which is interesting since Emotiva said that they would probably sell 5 x XMC-2's for every 1 x RMC-1. XPA power amps Gen 3, but some models were on sale before CES, an ever expanding range, eg; those half wide mono blocks, the only new XPA I'd be likely to buy. Sound and Vision reported on the XMR-1, yet another product not on sale a year later. The BasX range A300, CD-100 and PT-100 all made it during the year. As did the Airmotive S10 and T1's. The next version of DIRAC live was announced, but unless I missed it Emotiva are not saying much about when/if it will make it into their processors. That's about all I can remember, what will 2019 bring? Cheers Gary

Emotiva at CES doesn't excite anymore. I wait until a product is actually for sale before I allow myself to get excited about it.

Hmm. What would I like to see? A replacement/upgrade for the Emotiva Stealth 6/8, and maybe a nice/simple computer DAC with a physical volume knob, that has a bit of "class" or "elegance" to it. Something that matches the looks and style of my mac mini, but sounds either just as good or better than my current Big Ego.

I think a NAD 758v3 competitor would make sense. Seems to be a price range a lot want. 2-3 fully balanced channels would be nice but then that might just be the XMC-2. Maybe a bare bones with min inputs and outputs can get a XMC variant down in price. Just a thought.

The Raspberry Pi streamer and maybe a new personal DAC.

Sounds like what was supposed to be Emersa. 11.2 Unbalanced connections, scaled back Dirac live, $1500.... would be killer.

Something that matches the looks and style of my mac mini, but sounds either just as good or better than my current Big Ego. You describe the Schiit Fulla 2 if you ask me. Its small, simple, does a lot of things, has several connection options, and sounds pretty good to me, especially for $99. One of the best bangs for the buck on the planet. Combined with my Emotiva B3 speakers I really like it. I got the speakers on clearance for $99. For $200 I have great sound, easy volume control, and it's easy on the eyes. Back on topic, an Emersa Processor that WORKS straight out of the box would be nice. I'd love to see a Harmony Remote killer but that isn't going to happen. Screw the DC-2, I'd rather see the XDA-3, as requested by many of us, for rack mounting, with no volume control or headphone amp/jack, just a great DAC with multiple inputs, and a digital pass through output. Um what else...oh, I think many would like the Control Freak back. Um...... Almost forgot, what ever happened to that small office / bedroom unit? Imagine a CD player, Streamer, DAC, Tuner, and 2 channel Amp, in Stealth size proportions. They have already done or shown part of this equation. But never the CD player part. Player should have a USB output so it can double as a player for ripping. Make them separately, but sell discounts for the more parts you buy at a time.

Wow. Emotiva and Led Zeppelin must be related. They certainly have their own time.

I think what Gary is looking for is what people think Emo might be demo'ing at the show, not what people have on their Emo wishlists. Or so that's how I read it.

So NOT what has been previously demoed ? Lol. JK I think there will be a multichannel class d amp. A new x series dac. The hc-1 amps. And maybe some new powered speakers.

I'd just like to know pricing on the already out of the bag HC-1. I think that could be a big seller if Emo prices it right.

If it comes in at $399 I think it can be a hit, if it comes in at $499 there will be some fans willing to pay that for the flexibility and anything more than that and they should just keep it under wraps.

Hahahaha! Yeah they may as well keep it under wraps then lol. No way to be affordable with their silly dealer model.

I remember the times when you were able to upgrade from UPA to XPA to XPR, the business model made more sense back then IMO

I would like them to again have some "Bang for the buck" available. Only a few years ago you could get a XPA-5 for $899 or even $769 when a sale was happening. For me Emotiva has lost their position in the market and has crept up price-wise almost to the level of the major competitors.

Doesn’t it have the exact same PS as the XPA-3? That isn’t your “one third” proposition. I can’t see close to $399, but (maybe) time will tell.

Possibly not a lot of difference between what they might demo and what people would like to see them demo. Excluding the way out there, unlikely to ever be seen from Emotiva, let alone in a couple of weeks, bits of gear. Cheers Gary
