Is it just me or do I hear Dan maybe saying 8k not AK? Oohhh, now that's certainly a possibility ... Probably a lot more likely than a new "AK board". Time to go back and listen more carefully! Casey

Yep. You're right davidl81. It's at the 3:55mm:ss mark. It was in the context of talking about HDMI too. Stupid of me to have been so focused on Audio ... Still, Emotiva will be force to move onto the AK4493EQ at some point simply because Asahi Kasei will stop making the AK4490ENs. Casey

Considering he was referring it to the 4th gen board I’m inclined to think I misheard and he was saying 8k. My apologies for the stir up.

I too heard 8K as it was in the context of talking about the HDMI board upgrades that the interviewer had specifically asked about.

My friend, I believe myself and others have call out RMC-1L and the XMC-1L is even older! If in fact it existed! LOL Trust me...someone won't like the name "RMC-1L" "wait for it..." LOL! Mark I don't like it. But then again if I look at my list of gear I really don't like any of their names. OLED65C8P doesn't really roll off the tongue.

Honestly I would rather very much like them to use those resources to get their CURRENT HDMI stuff in a reliable working condition... I was happy with the UMC-200 as well as with the XMC-1 with the HDMI V2 board but the V3 board is feeling really unfinished and the RMC-1 doesn´t seem to be any better.

Today was a good day, I didn't even have to use my 8K!

...With regard to the various Audio dropouts, glitches, hash sounds, etc. I believe Lonnie when he says that they're working on Clock Management, etc... Casey I know just enough about digital electronics to be a danger to society. But clock management sounds serious to me. I hope they didn't foobar the hardware. How deep is their expertise in digital design? Remember the trigger problems with the XMC-1? Did Emotiva make some mistakes on the Linux board in that unit (which contains the triggers)? If I recall correctly, Momentum Data Systems was involved in the XMC-1 development. I wonder if they had a hand in the RMC-1.

Yes, Clock Management is hard. The Good News™ appears to be that, for the most part, these aren't Hardware Limitation issues.

Does anyone know what the differences will be between the 2 ? (RMC-2 / XMC-2) RMC-1/RMC-1L is 9.1.6 and XMC-2 is 7.2.4. Everything else is the same. When first announced the RMC-2 they said fully balanced all 16 outputs but according to Dan's interview at CES, only LRC and subs outs will be fully balanced.

I thought it was 9.1.6. Could be wrong.

I thought it was 9.1.6. Could be wrong. You are correct. 9.1.6 RMC-2 and 7.2.4 XMC-2

That won't happen until it is actually on the website for sale.
