All,
I just purchased a used combination of the UMC-200 and A-700. I will be using this for a 7.1 surround system. I was just reading about the new Vanatoo Transparent One Encore powered speakers and was considering using them for music listening and as the left/right speakers in the surround. The original got great reviews and I like having all of the inputs and Bluetooth options in a nice package. My other option would simply be to add Bluetooth to the UMC-200 and just use some passive speakers through the A-700 but I'm wondering how it handles stereo if everything is wired up for surround. Would it better to keep a stereo system separate from the 7.1? I was wondering what people thought about these two options. If I were to go with passive speakers instead of the T1's, what speakers in that price-point would be comparable? Any gotchas I might be missing with my original setup idea?
Glen
PS. My other stereo system is a Peachtree Audio 150 with SVS Ultra Bookshelf speakers and PB-1000 sub. How does the A-700 compare to the Peachtree (aside from being an A/B instead of D)?
