Does anyone have any recommendations on who to contact to have my JVC RS640 projector calibrated? I live about 80 miles southwest of Nashville. Also, what should I expect to pay to have this done?

I highly recommend Chad Billheimer, otherwise known as ChadB on AVS Forum. He has been to my home twice to ISF calibrate a Panasonic plasma and a Samsung full array LED. Any answers you may have can be found on his website, and if you can't find an answer contact him and he'll get back to you. He travels and does calibration tours, so you'd have to inquire on his website about it. www.hdtvbychadb.com/

Google ISF certified techs in your area, or get a professional grade Video Essentials disc, you might be happy with the results....

What LCS said - go with ChadB. Or if you have the time, go to AVSForums and learn how to do the calibration yourself. It is a time consuming learning curve, but worth it.

My initial research on calibration brought out the point that there may not be a lot of pros with the tools, training, experience on 4K.
I'd say ask specifically about 4K work.
And let us know how it goes.

Whoever suggested a Calibration Disc is on to something. From my doing several displayes, I'd think you can get WAY over 1/2 way to the pro job...... Some discs are both easier to use and have more tests than others. DVE is O<, I guess, but Disney made such a disc as did Monster. I don't know the current availability. I don't know that 4k standards are settled at this point. www.amazon.com/Spears-Munsil-Benchmark-Calibration-Disc/dp/B00CKWI13O/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&qid=1527601292&sr=8-2&keywords=B00CKWI13O&linkCode=sl1&tag=thedigmedzon-20&linkId=6efc77e1a4e9acce76e3e0ce3898de60Also? You might find 'suggested settings' for your particular monitor by the usual online search. And? At least ONE person I know who had an ISF guy do his cal, eventually went back to Other settings. Just didn't like that result for some reason. From our FWIW department? A 'Spyder' which is an add-on device used with a computer is available also. Calibrate your TV just like you'd calibrate your monitor. This is a terrific way to get a near-perfect Grey Scale.

I don't think a Spyder will work for a Projector. Sorry....
there are other issues like Screen Gain, unless somehow you can directly calibrate the projector.

The Spyder will work with the JVC projectors. Not the lowest level Spyder, but the upper two will work with the JVC Autocal software.
Depending on your level of knowledge, I'd say the Spyder & JVC Autocal would be your entry-level, and could get you to where you want to be. Nothing will beat a quality calibrator, of which I'd say there are 7 or 8 TOP quality guys in the US, maybe 10 more REALLY good guys, and a whole bunch of Geek Squad level guys.

Good information on AutoCal. Cost of spyder, even a higher end one, should be less than an ISF guy.
While they won't 'all be equal', I'd expect a certain competence from ALL so certified.

Yes, the cost of a Spyder is a great deal for getting into calibrating your own devices. It also helps you learn the idea behind it. I'd expect a certain competence as well, but just last week there was a story on here of a Geek Squad "calibrator" blaming an XMC-1 for display problems, and he calibrated both HDR and SDR modes in an obscure color space because he "couldn't get the TV to change to the more common settings." #YouCantMakeThisUp

Was the guy ISF? Bet 'ya 20Pesos, not........ Geek Squad claims to be ISF Certified. If you go to the ISF website, every Geek Squad shows up in their finder.

I don't like the sound of that.
IF you can get a group ISF certification, how about each individual IN that group?
Is this like Dolby or whatever where you pay a fee to the owners of the brand?
