I never thought of purchasing these power cords/cables, until my cat got behind my stand and literally chewed through everything back there cable wise that did not have a PET jacket.
I started looking on line, and found these at a good price, not cheap, but I could easily justify. Really nice quality, flexible and a good and snug fit in my subs, AVR and preamp.
I bought a couple extra just in case. If you are looking for an upgrade to the power cords, these 14/3 cords are at least worth a look, unless of course you want to build your own.
And that is one thing I did do, checked the prices on what I would need to build my own power cords/cables... I checked pricing, for quality ends, a Home Depot bulk 14/3 rubber jacket cable, PET covering, heat shrink and my time, I was close to $35-$40 a cord/cable. I paid roughly the same for these delivered, so I have to say these are a pretty good deal in the long run if you are in the market for new power cords. Or have a cat.

We used to have an inside cat. It loved to chew cables, used grills as scratching posts, and also thought that plastic bubble wrap was a litter box. Now we have an outside cat and things work better all the way around. They're affectionate little creatures, but animals in the house and expensive audio just don't get along, IMHO. And before I get inundated by inside-pet lovers, let me say that I'm not at all telling you how YOU should live with your pet - only saying how I live with mine.

Boom An associate of mine once found his cat on the priceless grill cloths of his speakers...…….I thought the poor guy would go into cardiac arrest, as he described it! An inside pet is necessary in our home life to complete the equation. I have taken measures (some would think a little whacky) to make it work. Cats are extraordinary acrobats, but a little dog is manageable with baby gates (still, a pain in the ass, but it works.) Let's see...….I've got one for the dining room entrance, one for the center hall, a six footer with a center door courtesy of Amazon searching, for the great room/HT. Then I have one for the deck, and a spare (courtesy Ebay) in the basement. When friends come by, more have something to say about our "fortress" then about the HI FI. Bill

Well, not my cat... I have no say... But, I like the little guy, and seeing as I have this figured out regarding cables, all is well on the front. And I really like these power cords. I measured and odered at the perfect length, they hide themselves and were plug and play. Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy. He he... Here is the little monster, he is recharging...

Well, what's his name? He looks super cool. (I'm a cat AND dog person - yes they exist).
