I have a problem with lip sync. The sound and video are noticeabley out of sync.
when I go to the menu to adjust it it will go no lower than 53 msec even though the manual says it is adjustable from 0 to 200.
i tried a reboot with no luck. What is going on and how can I fix it?
Thank you
George

We need more information to diagnose your problem. Do you exclusively listen to Milli Vanilli?

Sorry xmc-1 optical audio form the audio out of the lgtv. I’m not running any video through the xmc So, are you using the internal apps of the TV or do you have sources plugged into the TV and then porting the audio out via the TV’s digital output...? Also, what model LG do you own...? Is the audio “ahead” of the video (words come before lip movement) or behind (lips move before words are heard)..? Lastly, where in the XMC-1 are you setting lip sync delay..? For us to help, details mean everything...

Running from my direct tv hdmi out to hdmi in on the tv (not using apps). Sending from the LG tv optical out to the xmc-1 optical in. Video is ahead of the audio. Lip sync is main zone / trims / lip sync/ delay. The menu should run from values of 0 to 200. For some reason mine will not go below 53 so it stays set at 53. No point in setting higher when the audio is already too delayed. Thankyou

Have you tried looking for the audio delay menu on the lgtv, I know I can adjust this delay on my Samsung TV.

So, are you using the internal apps of the TV or do you have sources plugged into the TV and then porting the audio out via the TV’s digital output...? Also, what model LG do you own...? Is the audio “ahead” of the video (words come before lip movement) or behind (lips move before words are heard)..? Lastly, where in the XMC-1 are you setting lip sync delay..? For us to help, details mean everything... i have the LG 75UJ657A. Thankyou Okay, first, using your setup the way you are, lip sync delay should be set at the TV. Since your TV employs LG’s WebOS, that setting can be found under Settings > Sound > AV Sync Adjustment. Once there, turn AV Sync on (if it isn’t already) and make sure “ Bypass” is set to off. The lip sync delay in your XMC-1 should remain at zero in both the “Main Zone” trim setting (which are only temporary settings that are always reset after a power cycle) and in the “Input Setup” for that specific input (which are static and are retained after a power cycle). Once entering the XMC-1’s “Input Setup” menu (Menu > Setup > Input > Optical [#]), if you see a selection for “Auto Lip Sync” (and it is checked), turn it off and make sure the manual setting is “zero”. Your XMC-1 now has no effect upon audio delay. After all of the settings above are correctly set, confirm their effectiveness in resolving your issue. If the audio is still out of sync, use the slider found in the “AV Sync Adjustment” menu of your LG TV to make the required adjustment. If the audio is still behind the video (too much delay), move the slider towards the negative side of zero. If the audio is now ahead of the video, add delay by moving the slider to the positive side of zero. Lastly, for your knowledge and future reference, any lip sync delay settings for sources connected directly to the XMC-1 should be set permanently (per input) in the “ Setup” menu, not the “ Main Zone” (trim) settings. When you find that a video source connected directly to the XMC-1 requires lip sync delay, go to Menu > Setup > Input > [input name] > Lip Sync Delay and fine tune the setting there. These settings are permanently stored and will remain in effect until changed again or a factory reset is performed. Any lip sync delay settings made in the “Main Zone > Trims” menu are temporary and are also “on top of” (or, in addition to) any entries made in the input settings. The "trim" adjustments are temporary and are forgotten after the XMC-1’s power has been cycled. Hope this helps...
