With the new LRS Magnapan speakers being at such a reasonable cost (and getting great reviews) I was thinking about trying out a pair. Heck they have a 60 day trial period. Anyway it was bought up they need high current and high amps. The dealer told me that if my amp doubled or came close to doubling power at 4 ohms as opposed to 8 ohms then I should be fine. The A-300 is rated at 150 for 8 and 300 at 4 ohms. Is this going to work or should I be on the search again for an amp? I guess the worst case I cancel my order. I've had Magnepans for over 40 years, and currently own three pair plus a center channel. The Emotiva A300 will work fine with Magnepans. They are all 4 ohm speakers, which the A300 is perfectly capable of handling. It's power output is about 300 watts per channel at 4 ohm as well. More than enough.

I did go ahead and buy an XPA2 Gen3 and an XSP1 Gen2 and an ERC3. The factory renew stuff was irresistible so now I just have another system running the LRS speakers. Its works really well together although in the beginning I felt it was a bit "bright" but that seemed to calm down or my eras got used to it.

I like them, it has been a different experience for me as I have always owned box floor speakers with multiple woofers. As times has gone on and getting more hours on them the brightness calmed down and the bass has gotten better (probably why they arent as bright.) The sound stage is amazing. I often use the term engulfing.I was planning on buying a sub to go with them but later decided it wasn't needed. They are very finicky about placement. After my initial video youtu.be/pms8Hl4ue7Q one person thought I didn't like them, not true. I am in the process of moving and they will have a dedicated listening room.

Some people say Maggies don't need a break in period and others do. I firmly believe they do need a fair amount of playing time to settle down and tighten up. Once broken in they do sound incredible and have an amazing sound stage. Hope you get many years of enjoyment from them.
