I have a new listening room (16’x21’) that presents certain challenges. On the front wall there is a 100.5” bay window on the left side, 16.5” from the left wall, and 75” of wall on the right side. My thought is to put curtains across the whole front wall. I haven’t fired things up yet to see how it sounds. Maybe when I do, that will inform further thoughts.

Anyone have opinions regarding placing sound absorption curtains to cover the entire front wall? Is that likely to harm the sound by disrupting propagation of the planar backwave?

Anyone have opinions regarding placing sound absorption curtains to cover the entire front wall? Is that likely to harm the sound by disrupting propagation of the planar backwave? I have black thermal curtains behind my TV, racks and stereo speakers and I believe it helps SQ and I know it improved viewing quality of movies and tv. They’re not expensive, try it. Let us know if you do!
