Hi, got an e-mail today from E-Bay about XMC-1 Factory Re-furbs for sale . When I logged on e-bay to check them out it said they were shipping from Franklin TN ( Emotiva), also said " ..may not ship to Canada.."
so questions are: 1. Are all the refurb XMC-1's going to be sold via JadeDesign store on e-bay 2. if so will there be international shipping.
At the moment when I go to the Jadedesign shop I see $5 cable with $120 CAN shipping to Canada or an XSP-1 for C $865 and C $556 shipping to Canada, are these shipping rates for real or is the site just borked.

Send jadedesign a message and ask. They were prompt in replying when I inquired, having several questions.

Have an update for any non US ppl interested in purchasing one of these off E-Bay. Some more came up for sale so I tried to contact JadeDesign via the contact button on the page. This led to a FAQ page and I choose Shipping. On the list it said no international shipping so I hit the contact button on that page which brought me back to the FAQ page....basically chasing my tail lol. At this point I sent Emotiva sales an e-mail explaining the situation. After a few hrs of e-mail tennis, and a few failed attempts to fix e-bay settings, Emotiva just sent me a PayPal invoice w/ shipping included. I sent them the cash and 4 days later XMC-1 was at my door... after paying the $300 in tax and brokerage at customs So if yer having same issues just contact Emotiva sales and they will have a quick and painless solution for you. As usual it was a nice experience dealing with Emotiva directly.

To Canada? If so, Emotiva ships via UPS who will give you brokerage, taxes and fees of $13.46 on a #3.50 purchase. I have no idea why they ship via UPS and they are know to charge huge brokerage fees. ($10.00 of the $13.46 was brokerage) and NO it does not go down on larger orders and they don't check COO even if it is on the documents/bill of sale. The also charge the same way on documented warranty replacement items. Have an update for any non US ppl interested in purchasing one of these off E-Bay. The tax had already been paid 3 months prior when it arrived the first time.. At least ups charges up front. Not like FedEx when you just randomly receive a bill 2 months later. Best shipping method is via USPS and Canada post, the fees are so much less.

USPS is the best way, especially now that Emo has to submit taxes to all 50 states.
Canada Post normally charges a $9.95 brokerage fee, hence you save BIG TIME over UPS.
FedEx brokerage is about 1/2 to 2/3 of what UPS charges.
You can refuse UPS's brokerage and do it yourself as long as Emotiva provides the proper paperwork specifying the price, type of device, COO etc. That being said, USPS/Canada Post is the way to go now unless it is a big heavy amp.
