Anyone running mixed impedances, 4 & 8 ohm with any issues?
I'm considering the T2+ @ 4 ohm. Don't believe I've ever own 4 ohm before. I've always been leary of 4 ohm speakers due to clipping, seen some that drop to 1.8 ohms. eeks 8 ohm gives that extra 'buffer' that allows me a warm & fuzzy for amp safety. Realize Emo wouldn't build 4 ohm speaker if it was an issue, but...heat?
Ya, a stupid question, but humor me.

First off, pretty well all of our current amps will cheerfully support any mix of 4 Ohm and 8 Ohm speakers. (I believe the sole exception is that you can't put 4 Ohm speakers on bridged channels on the A-800.) This is also true for virtually all power amps available these days... as well as most good quality receivers. (However, you will find a few low end AVRs that say they won't accept 4 Ohm speakers.)
All of our 4 Ohm speakers are reasonably well behaved.... They don't drop below about 3 Ohms - and aren't especially difficult to drive. Therefore, the T2+ shouldn't make life difficult for any amp rated to drive 4 Ohm speakers. (And there should never be any problem mixing 4 Ohm and 8 Ohm speakers on the same amp.)

I was running 6ohm Mirage OMD-28's, 6 Ohm OMD-C2, and 8 Ohm OMD-5's with no issues from my XPA-5 G2 for a while. Then I ran the OMD-R's (6 ohm) with the OMD-5's and had no issues either way.

"They don't drop below about 3 Ohms"- thx Keith, that's what I needed to know. I luv the amp, it never gets beyond warm, even after 12 hrs of play. Hope to have it a long, long time.
Anxious for the T2+ to arrive. My hearing has changed and want/need the 3-way design. I'm not as satisfied with the M.A.'s as I once was.

you will love the T-2s. I certainly do. at the moment they have taken the place of my reference DIY speakers and the are extraordinary with virtually any genre or style of music whether the ensemble be very large or very small. I listen to orchestral, string quartets , brass bands, high energy jazz, high energy rock as well as low energy acoustic guitar, voice, small group, electronic music and others .........etc.... and they are excellent with them all. note the pic. at the moment I am running them through the PT-100 preamp and A-300 amp. but I have also played them through my XSP-1 preamp and XPR-2 amp. did a side by side comparison with my reference speakers running off the ERC-3 and the reference went lower since the subs are in that system but overall balance and dynamic range, transparency, and soundstage were comparable. I originally bought them just to compare with my speakers and then planned to sell them. not gonna happen now. when the RMC-1L is available, I will use the T-2s for my stereo listening and everything else for surround sound. YOU WILL BE VERY HAPPY WITH THE T-2'S. tchaik.....................

tchaik Your Statements don't look as large as other pictures I've seen. If they can even keep up with those, that's saying a lot. I know Curt designed them for HT, but still... Thank you for your input. btw, nice system.
lol- they & those in one sentence, English teach would be proud. If T2 can even keep up with Statements... No disrespect Emotiva.

Thank you for your input. btw, nice system. these were the sealed version which were made to sit atop a pair of subs. been back and forth with curt making subtle changes. still T2s are amazing. I like the airmotiv tweeter a little bit more than the ribbon.
