One question I have is can one apply BEQ filters via the internal PEQ filters within the RMC-1 while DIRAC is used? Put differently, are the PEQ filters disabled when DIRAC is enabled? Correct me if I'm wrong but I tend to think of DIRAC compensating for the room and BEQ compensating for crappy sound editing. Both are necessary for great sound. If one cannot use both simultaneously within the RMC-1, then a MiniDSP 2x4 HD ends up still being necessary.

It's pretty simple to do a personalised PEQ, just copy the DIRAC'd EQ to a file, then edit it and upload that to the processor. There are so many data points that it's not remotely possible that I would want to try on the fly, with the remote (or a laptop/iPad) while watching the movie. That's not something that I can ever imagine doing. Personally if I want more bass for example I simply trim up the LFE channel volume or if the dialogue is too soft I trim up the centre channel (in Atmos) or the dialogue channel (in DTS-X). Maybe if the rain on the roof isn't loud enough I can turn up the ceiling speaker volume. That's about as much "personalising" as I'm ever likely to do. Cheers Gary
