Hi everybody. I’m building a new home and looking for recommendations on in-wall and in-ceiling stereo speakers. There’s so much out there on the market and I have zero experience other than a couple of pairs of polk that were installed in my lower level of my existing house. Appreciate all input. Thanks!

I purchased four Definitive Technology DI8R speakers for my in-ceiling installation. They are full range speakers. You need to shop around, they list for $399/ea on the Definitive Technology website, but you can find them for around $200 each with the manufacturer's five year warranty. www.definitivetechnology.com/products/di-8rDriver complement: 1-inch (25mm) pivoting Aluminum dome tweeter axially aligned with a 8" (20 cm) BDSS bass/midrange driver Frequency response: 26Hz - 30kHz Impedance: 4 - 8 Ohms Sensitivity: 90 dB Recommended associated amplifier power: 10 - 225 WPC Inputs: One pair of gold plated heavy-duty spring-loaded terminals

Sorry, but this one reminds me of one of the ATMOS FAIL articles from early on when all of this got started "the speakers are stupid" (perhaps some of you had read it).
In most instances, fidelity takes a back seat to object based speaker locations, because it HAS TO. You can't just throw everything that's known about mechanical transducers (and room boundaries) out the window and expect the audio to work flawlessly. That is also taking automated room correction into account.
